I bought one in about 1980 to home brew a receiver. It was very handy to figure out values of unknown capacitors and inductors. I gave it to some high school kids who were starting in Ham radio.

I just found your channel. Thank you so much! I'm troubleshooting a TS820S and this has been very helpful. When you peak the load and plate at final tuning, should you drop carrier to bring needle back in ALC range? I have been, and don't really understand the circuitry very well.

Buddy, really enjoyed watching you build a computer. I used to work on them myself, build them and sell haven’t done it for several years had a little business and ran out of the house part time, but I really enjoy watching your videos. I’ve been missing them though, but I hope y’all are well and the hurricane didn’t do too much damage at you’re at your place you have a merry Christmas and hope to see you the next year.

Thanks for sharing Doug, I used to do the same many years ago when Windows was just a kid lol. Build many 8088's and then 286 machines. All good here now thanks. Merry Christmas to you and yours

Congratulations Buddy, that’s a fantastic machine that’ll serve you well. I was expecting half-and-half a heavenly voice exclaiming “ignition sequence start” (like a Saturn V) when you fired that thing up. Beautiful build. Don’t forget to tune Windows for max performance (disabling telemetry etc) and you’ll be fine. Merry Christmas and happy new year!

Thanks my friend. I never think of doing things like that LOL. Merry Christmas and thanks for stopping in.

That looks like a nice machine. You mentioned water cooling, personally I wouldn’t bother, air cooling is about the same these days and there’s less to go wrong. Another 32Gb of ram might be useful for video editing, but just 32Gb is fine
@____________________________.x25 күн бұрын
I’d flip that heat sink fan to the other side though, they work slightly better pushing air into the fins than trying to suck it in. Double check it’s pointed the right way too

I still have mixed feeling in the water cooling. So far the temps are well within normal parameters. Already upgraded to 64gb. Thanks

There's just to much bullshit controls on HAM radios! What fun is there in that? There's so much that can go wrong..
@johndyson410925 күн бұрын
I'll never be a HAM.. I like my 27Mhz. and it's upper and lower channels. HAM is to formal for me and I'm not going to pay to be a gentleman on the radio. I'm valso not going to be be an asshole on any TX either.. I've been into radio since 88' and I've known many HAMs.. It's just NOT for me.. 11 meters is fun and not a who is better and knows more and who has better equipment game.

Great choice of cases. Sounds as though you've planned for the future with water cooling the main chip. It's weird that they operate at nearly a direct short. I've seen models with different color coolant in clear tubing with tons of LED's mounted in the cases. Very pretty but mostly for show all though they are quite fast. Cheers from eastern TN

Hi Buddy, Appears you will have a first class PC. One thing I want you to check is if you use the M2 SSD storage, you may not be able to use any other internal storage drives. I discovered that when looking at another motherboard where I wanted to use the motherboard M2 SSD and warned me I could not use any of the SATA ports for drive access. That was a deal breaker for that motherboard. I would rather have the capability to use the SATA ports for hard drives. 73 WJ3U
@TheRadioShop24 күн бұрын
I heard that also. I only running operating system on the M2, everything else is loaded on external 6TB drives. I may have to try the SATA and see though. Thanks
