Your review of North Austin seems like you’ve never been to North Austin. You didn’t talk about much of actual North Austin. I think of suburbs when I think of South Austin everything South of Ben White. The urban center of the city is in North Austin (Caesar Chavez - 15th street ) that is the antithesis of suburbs. North Austin has the best park in the city (Pease) and the biggest park (Emma Long). Most of the music venues are in North Austin , Moody, Stubbs, 6th street and red river district. The not suburban neighborhoods in north Austin are where the charm is, Hyde Park, Windsor Heights, Pemberton Heights, Tarrytown, Clarksville, Rosedale, Brentwood, Northloop, Crestview etc. If you want to see a sporting event that’s all north Austin too. And Bass Concert Hall and Paramount theatre are both north too. You mentioned art galleries in South Austin but failed to mention all the art museums are in North Austin, AMOA, La Guna Gloria, Blanton , Elizabeth Ney. Not to mention all of the parts of South Austin worth visiting are all within a quarter mile of north Austin.

I live in Austin, TX most of my life. I move to DFW for college for 7 years and moved back to Austin. I live in Austin for 40 years and see the many changes in Austin. Background and history of Austin. The IH35 in Austin is dated and capacity to fit for 1990. It cannot handle modern traffic today. Austin before 2000 is consider a retirement place. Evidently, today, it is not. So this city is not a great place to speed. Try elsewhere like DFW and Houston for speeding. The roads are tight with so many people driving on the street. Plus there are retirement people here. PLEASE DRIVE SLOW AND BE CAUTIOUS. East Austin, before 2000, which is east of I35 was a place no one wants to be because of crimes. Now condos and buildings take over. Most of the residents went to Manor and the crime continued from there.

Whos got higher utilities? I think I had read in the past austins electricity is much higher. How about groceries and eating out? If not working a special job but more of a retail job, do you know if there is a difference in pay? Also I heard the cedar trees in texas are pretty notorious for allergies, Im assuming the humidity in nashville can help counter all the pollen? Thanks

I'm curious about a few things in Austin: Are most of the neighborhoods segregated like Midwestern cities? How's the job market for average citizens? Would you consider Austin pro renter or pro landlord? Is there a lot of housing growth there?
@MovingATX
@MovingATX 14 күн бұрын
Thank you for commenting! Austin has a robust job market and healthy growth in terms of real estate development. Texas is generally pro property owner. I'd say it's fair and balanced overall. These are generalizations, though, so it really depends on your unique goals. Happy to talk offline as well.

The best advice is to not actually live in the City of Austin itself and to avoid any areas served by it's electricity or water utilities-which are frequently non-functional. Westlake and Lake Travis are the best areas the city has to offer. Downtown is populated with adult children still on their parents cell phone plans. Less homelessness and crime when you get outside of the city, as well.

Is downtown the only area where the apartment buildings offer 7/24 Concierge service?
@MovingATX
@MovingATX 14 күн бұрын
Most of the downtown condos offer 24-hr concierge, but since our group specializes in sales, I'm unfamiliar with the apartment rental offerings. Regarding condos, most of the 24/7 service is going to be concentrated around the downtown developments and typically goes hand in hand with higher monthly association dues.

Why is home insurance so expensive in Austin ?
@MovingATX
@MovingATX 14 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. What city/state are you comparing to Austin? Would this be for a single-family home, condo, or other property type? Property insurance has always been competitive compared to most areas, so I'm curious about the specifics.

I grew up in DFW (Grapevine), and lived in and around Dallas until I was 29. I was Dallas to the core. I always said you're either a Dallas person or an Austin person. But I've lived an hour north of Austin for 10 years now, and Austin has completely grown on me. It's so much prettier than the "flat, farmland" that is Dallas. It's so flat up there!

Native Austinite here, born 89. Austin has changed a lot during my lifetime but I can safely say South Austin in my opinion is the legit OG Austin. It’s really hard to put in words but to me North Austin has always felt more sterile and not as vibrant and more suburbia. Yes, I’ve lived in both places. Also I consider anything past 183 North Austin. Small rant and side note, if you live in Round Rock you don’t live in Austin lol, maybe to the new comers that seems normal to say but I always find it weird when people say I’m from Austin when they live in Round Rock. Nobody would say that when I was growing up. Anyways, great video 👍🏼

How Judge Guy Herman Stole Mom's house. There is a 15 undivided acre property with 2 Houses owned by a Mom and daughter with each owning 50% of the Homestead . The Mom died with a Will giving an Option to Purchase to a Lying deceiving Developer Next door owning 100+ acres stating a minimum price of $60k and an UNLIMITED UPPER Price with the Price to be SET by the Named Trusted Loyal Executor. 26 days later the Mom spoke that the Developer was "No Good and no good will come from him". Eight months later there is a Signed notarized and double witnessed Statement by the Mom revoking the Option to Purchase and stating to NOT SELL the Mom's property that was Not Revoked by the Mom for the 9 months enjoyed of healthy living that remained, knowing Mom's house was in good hands. Because the Named Trusted Loyal Executor, a 45yrs friend, would NOT SELL , Judge Guy Herman replaced the Executor with the Developer's attorney / Administrator . Judge Guy Herman would Not permit a Trial by Jury. Though ALL of the Family is DEBT Free the Developer's attorney Administrator states that it is in the BEST interest of the Family to SELL the Mom's half of the 15 acre $500,000+ DEBT Free Homestead to the Developer at 2~10% or less of it's value. Austin TX built a Formula 1 Race track and Music Concert and Events Center across the street from the Mom and daughter's Homestead. As visitors exit the Main Entrance the tree covered property directly across the street is the tree covered 15 acres where the 2 Houses are. The 100+ acres of bull dozed land beside the Mom and daughter's Homestead is owned by the Travis County taxpayer funded Developer of the Velocity Project, who wants to put in Retail and housing. Because the Named Trusted Loyal Executor complained soo much another "Ethical" Judge, Dan Prashner stepped in and said he had reviewed the Probate Case and also found in favor of the Developer and said that he would Court Order a SELL at $60k. The Will gives the Executor and now by law the Administrator the power to SELL or Not SELL and to SET the price if needed with only a low price Limit and NO UPPER Limit. By removing the Named in the Will Loyal Trusted Executor, Guy Herman leaves the Mom's Estate Defenseless and Stole (at a cheap price) this Mom's house. ___Probate Court is a Brotherhood of Snakes . ___ Now attorneys chase Estates instead of ambulances.___ The Developer already has 100s of acres to the side and Millions of dollars and Lots of "Ethical" attorneys, but he coveted and didn't have that Mom and daughter's place at the Main Entrance. ___ Protect your House ___ Don't Die with a Will , do "Right of Survivorship" and avoid the Probate Court's Legal Ethical Thefts for the Good of the Debt Free Family . ___ Through Probate Court Sanctioned Probate Fraud (multiples of bold faced lies by the Developer aimed to replace the Executor, which would Invalidate a will, but the choice to Invalidate or not, is made by the "Ethical" Judge who would not permit a Trial by Jury) and Court Sanctioned Theft ; this homestead was stolen from a Cherished Mom (a believer in the forgiveness found in Christ alone) and her Family. The Mom's Intent, the Daughter, the Executor and the Beneficiary all Oppose the SALE yet the Developer's attorney Administrator states a SALE of the Mom's DEBT FREE 50% of the Homestead at 2~10% of it's value to the UnTrusted Developer is in the BEST interest of the Family. ? ! One block away from the F1 Racetrack Entrance a 1 acre lot is asking $500,000 for the 1 acre So by location value the Mom's half would be worth 7 1/2 acres x $500,000 = $3,750,000 Court Ordered Sold for $60k. No Justice here in Central Texas ! Bad times must come, but woe unto him by whom the bad times come. Luke 17:1 Woe unto Judge Guy Herman Woe unto Judge Daniel Prashner Woe unto Court Appointed Administrator Joseph S Babb Woe unto the Developer group Woe unto the Travis County taxpayer funded Velocity Project - the purpose of this project is to raise property taxes in the area and run the long time residents out. The Family did not have $70mil in Taxpayer Funds to spend on "Ethical Attorneys" to defend Mom's Will from the"Honorable Judges" and Taxpayer Funded Developers .

We live an hour north of Austin. My husband and I like to go to south Austin/downtown when it's just us. My kids like Barton Sorings pool. My oldest looooves the Domain for shopping bc she's 11 and is one of those super into skincare and Lululemon type kids 😂 We love to visit then head home. Austin has really grown on me over the years. I grew up in DFW and considered myself a Dallas gal. But now, I'm definitely much more partial to Austin.

I live in pflugerville it's its own city which has advantages from being apart from communist Austin in other words no riff raff also we have the 1:30 which lets you get to the airport really fast if you're not driving in traffic hours smack dab downtown is only 25 minutes and it's a more laid-back easy living place other people like Cedar park but it's a bit harder to get out of there as far as going out to temple and manor that's quite far out so it puto is also far out as is bastrop. Lakeway can be quite far out because of the roads. The rolling hill country in the south west is pretty but very expensive and downtown Austin you're pretty much looking at a tiny condo for ridiculous prices. What other area if you want to be close to downtown I like a lot is called Burnett the South Congress area used to be hip but now so much is gone houses there are depression era very small kind of icky

I used to love Austin, north and south, but I can’t wait to move. Way too many crazy drivers, there is a bad police shortage. I’m hesitant to stop at convenient stores early in the morning because I don’t want to be asked for money by people hanging out in the parking lot.
