Older video, but big baits are such an addiction! After that 1st bass on a big bait, it's game over....im a serious lure junkie now....if u can find 1, the 10" Savage Gear Floater...big lazy swimbait waking...Magdraft is a great bait, too...hate the treble on the bottom of soft swimbaits...seems to gill hook more bass, which isn't a good thing

Fan of your content. You’re putting in the work and getting results but man you are so brutal on these fish. Dragging them up on shore and they’re busting themselves up.this one on pavement. Buy a quality net and keep it at your feet and scoop them or lip them. Fish handling is more important than views. Tight lines.

I agree with you for the most part but that is not the case with the Magdraft 10” and how the fish tend to eat the bait in this body of water. The fish in this lake are 7lbs and under. They do not engulf it from behind but tend to t-bone it like a large glide bait. If you see how the fish is hooked in this video, it’s an accurate portrayal of how they attack the bait 99% of the time. I’m not letting them eat it and it’s a quick set. Without the stinger in that location, there were too many missed bites. It was added through trial and error from a ton of time on the water in that location. If I was fishing for true giant bass in the DD range I would certainly reassess.

Sweet video man I've had more success using my rats below the surface then on top really I like to crank down my 3pc rats cause. They seem to be way more stable especially that illude 3 pc zombie but. The Sneaky and 2pc zombie crank down pretty well for a 2pc rat. I like to get them down a bit and then pause and let float back up and repeat that seems to work pretty well when they're fired up.

yo! Thanks so much brother! That's so awesome to hear. There is something about that undulating tail that drives them wild. Makes sense give how effective worms have been throughout the years. Nope. I fish it stock. The hooks are positioned upward already. The only mod I can see doing is to possibly boil them to make the plastic softer. I’ve noticed on the newer ones that they went with a tougher plastic that’s harder to collapse. It seems like each frog is slightly different in terms of how soft it is. They break in after a while. I’ve been using the same three for four years and I keep repairing them with mend it. Lol.

@@richardkeller6940 that makes my day to hear! There is something about the gavacho that just gets them to commit. The third tail and really perfect walking ability combined with the cupped face provide amazing versatility imo. I just got back from South Carolina on a really tough fishery and the gavacho is one of the few baits that produced (in my latest video). @BIGFISHSYNERGY
@BIGFISHSYNERGY 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words, my friend! Did you pickup a Workshop LDC or a Custom LDC? They are different blanks. The Workshop is a slower taper and I think it has more of a parabolic nature. I fish the Customs which either come in a mod fast or parabolic taper (not too much of a difference imo). I can’t speak to the Workshop but I know that in the case of the Customs, the XH can easily handle a Deps 250 which is right around 6 oz. I’m assuming that the Workshop blank is not much different. The LDC stuff is built on proprietary Phenix blanks which are amazingly versatile. They are certainly stout but really bend nicely when hooked into a fish. (I also prefer a more stout rod). You will be pleasantly surprised. I would say that the sweet spot is probably around 3.5 - 5 Oz and I think the range of baits you want to cover is perfect for the XH. It’s always nice to fish a power up on some of the lighter baits in that spectrum. It gives you more control on a fight with a big. I would most definitely fish a 301 on an XH. The Calcutta is an amazing platform and is absolutely bulletproof. Once you get into baits over 3oz, I feel it’s better to have something over a 200 size reel. I fish a Calcutta 400 which is obviously a bruiser but it’s all about the line pickup for me. The larger spool allows you to really control these giant baits and keep a nice even taper on each crank of the reel. You can also grind in the fish faster and more effortlessly. Best of luck with the LDC, man. Ben is great people and is an amazing builder. You will love the stick.
