If you just start driving the charger port will automatically close. Congrats on your R1S! Looks like your camp site had a 30A/50A charger. Your Rivian came with a plug for that and you would have charged a lot faster. You just pull the 110 plug and replace it with the 220. One last thing, did you use the self-leveling feature? That’s my favorite feature when car camping in it.

When you visited the Hilton All-Inclusive side, were you able to dine there? Were the prices any cheaper? Or did they have any interesting events or activities (at both the Waldorf and Hilton All Inclusive)?

We didn't dine there because they wanted around $150 for a day pass. The had some vendors there and a Jazz fest was going on in between the 2 hotels.

You guys have a beautiful Rivian. I live in the same region as you. As summer comes I’d be curious if you think the glass roof on road trips makes it hot in the cabin or if the glare is annoying, or if you have no issues? If either the summer heat or glare bother you I’d be curious if you plan to use some kind of sun shade. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

No issues yet with the sun. I barley even remember we have a glass roof. I'll wait until it gets 100 degrees out but we don't plan on buying a shade even then.

Great video! FYI…use the NEMA 14-50 plug when at the camp sites. Noticed it was available for use. Normally you have to flip a switch to turn it on. It’ll give you something like 100 miles overnight charging.

Did you use camping mode to run heat or AC overnight? How did it work? Any disruptions? I’ve seem some other videos on KZbin where camping mode failed to work as expected. Was this an issue for you at all?

Yes, and we had to restart the AC using the app on our phones through the night.

I did it in Jan 2024. I just needed eTA alone and passport. I didn't need east African visa. They only asked for eTA upon arrival. Thanks for watching!!
