I like John Williams, but the tremolo is above his ability. It is jolting, very unpleasantly. There is only ONE SINGLE Guitarist who can really perform it perfectly, which is Emmanuel Rossfelder.

Just brilliant... I've heard this played by quite a few classic guitarists, but John Williams stands head and shoulders above the rest... Seamless, a joy to listen to. Perfection.

Esta pieza se estudiaba,hace muchos años,en el último grado de guitarra clásica en conservatorio en España.Tocar a la perfección Recuerdos de la Alhambra,requiere un nivel avanzado y muchas horas de ensayo.Cuando lo consigues...la satisfacción es enorme.

Well, I think we've moved on a bit from Segovia's early/mid 2oth century approach. The 21st century has seen a steep decline in number large concert hall performances and rise/return in small venue/salon and recorded performances (including video streaming), this has resulted in some reappraisal and resurgence in the use of shorter nail length and even outright flesh attack used in the right hand. Nail technique still dominates but attitudes are not so dogmatic. Thankfully.

This piece is actually based on a very tragic occurrence. The Alhambra Decree which ordered the expulsion of 300,000 Jews from Spain during the horrific Inquisition.
