Interesting to know a little more about the china domestic scene. Now I realise why panda podium struggles keeping up with demand for handlebars. What’s the update on wheeltop? Really interested in that, could be a god send for my old Rim brake propel which I love and wouldn’t mind upgrading a bit.

Yo Max, stamina is usually an estimate of how much you have left in the tank. Think of it like your match box. If it's 100% you're fresh, you can crank it out, the lower your stamina goes, the less you (supposedly) can push. The 3.2 and 4.5, etc numbers are just zone numbers. There's always a range, you'll see the same on Garmin, they also show Zone 4.x. It's just a way to show you how close you are to going out of the zone. Say you're doing FTP/Aerobic capacity training, you'll want to be in the Zone 4.0 - 4.9 range! Hope this helps!

Thanks man appreciate this- yeah the stamina thing makes sense as by the time I got home it was on like 8% so went down during the ride. The aerobic and anaerobic built up over the ride… so I’m trying to figure out how that works out… the more hard efforts I do the higher my anaerobic value would be towards the end of the ride I guess?

@@thewattlife Ah, that's hard to say. It might just be some arbitrary "you've pushed this type of system today". Which could help you evaluate whether you're training the intended systems on that particular session. That'd actually be pretty cool if that's what it means. I don't have a very complicated computer myself, just an Edge Explorer, but I think I'll get something like the IGS800 in the future. I'm much like you and have recently transitioned from "just riding my bike" to way more structured training! Excited to see your results from it!

I have the iGPSport radar. Spot on! i have the IGS630s and both their radar and the front light, works like a charm. I do get a false positive every now and then, mostly when there is a single parked car but overall works fine. On par with the Garmins that my mates use. The only "issue" i had with it was that if it gets too muddy detection isnt as reliable, so i have to stop and wipe it a bit. Overall, quite good for the price point. The IGS630S, well im not that impressed... too expensive for what it does, phone app leaves a fair bit to be desired, incapable of calculating a route to a saved point (at least on Manchester area... ) and the "flagship" feature - the "iClimb" thingy never worked for me. As a "recorder" works fine. Also i do have issues connecting a 4iiii power meter, keeps disconnecting. Tried iGPSport support, never got a reply.. (power meter works fine with a wahoo).

nice channel. Would be cool if you used also kph because miles well.. only you guys can get it. I'm at the same situation than you atm, i'm too slow in turns, round abouts, descents, I need to pull massive watts to get back in a wheel, that's so unecessary. I've done an ultra endurance event and lost maybe 150 positions in descents, got dropped of groups because of it. If the group is too fast for you I think you just tell them you're going to sit last wheel for a bit at the start and see how it goes, eventually take pulls later on, they should understand your situation, this way you can last longer and get more out of these rides

The watts/kg is a very misleading metrics in cycling especially for amateurs. Your heart and lung won't get bigger or smaller with your body weight -- to be precisely the fat weight. They are independent of each other. You should tackle those two things separately. You should focus more on the absolute power or absolute VO2max when you talk about "training", and treat the weight problem separately. You train to increase the absolute power, not to lose weight. You diet for weight, and should not expect a power increase. IF you gain 10% power and in the same time gain 10% weight, does that mean your training is ineffective? No way. Or the other way around if you lose 5% power but also lost 10% weight (for example, from sickness), does that mean your training is successful? No way, your training probably is wrong. If you treat these two problems separately you'll be much more peace of mind and have a much more cleared view of how to access the training progress and not to get too frustrated or confused. That watts/kg only works well because all those pros are all on their individual edge -- when you compare Pogacha's edge with Jonnas's edge, this is very useful. But for someone who's not on the edge, just use the raw power when talking about "training". BTW your power is already very good. 360W is not something that is easily achievable for most people. That means if you somehow survived a labor camp and starved to 60kg or something you'll be at the pro level. You can just diet to get that watts/kg -- no training involved. But you also have to know that's not a fitness/training gain. It's just weight loss which is a different process.

Did I miss what the starting watts/kg were at? I saw the 270 FTP but may have missed the body weight or w/kg. I also wrongly assumed this video might actually show some results than just a coach generically talking about the universally accepted 80/20 principle. I just started seriously cycling and training in March after being a running hobbiest. Through 80/20 structured training I moved from 3 w/kg to 3.6 w/kg over 4ish months.

I previously had a T1500 and really liked that bike but sold it to build up an Aethos, but I have since sold that frame and just built up a T1550 Disc with Hyper D45 to go along with my MY22 Scott Foil RC. Both the Scott Foil RC and T1550 are last gen aero bikes in that they are pure aero bikes not all arounders and the the frames weigh 1200g-1300g, not superlight. In terms of speed or at least the perceptions of speed the Winspace feels much stiffer out of the saddle when sprinting but like your review or Norcal's review alluded to is almost borderline too stiff especially with regular clinchers. My MY22 Foil while still plenty stiff is a lot more forgiving in the rear granted it is setup with Elite Wheel Drive wheels and tubeless tires. The two bikes are set up fairly identical in that the main components are Force AXS D2 like yours but I am using Red cassettes and chains for both my bikes. Both my bikes are using BBinfinite one piece ceramic bottom brackets which I highly recommend, but the MY22 Foil RC is a using an older Red GXP crankset and the T1550 is using the Force D2 DUB crankset. Both bikes are have BBInfinite ceramic jockey wheels, but the Foil is using the standard size and the T1550 is using the slightly oversized ones. As I mentioned before I had the previous T1500 and I will say the graphics or aesthetics are 1000 times better on the T1550 BUT I was kind of saddened that my fork wasn't 100% cleanly painted on the T1550. Wherever they masked off for the white stripes at the bottom of the fork was pretty sloppy in that there was a bit of jagged edges, hard edges, or even tiny chips. Granted these are mostly in the inside of the fork where you would have to be looking for imperfections. I will say my Scott has a much more dynamic and higher quality paint job granted even that bike shipped with a 5mm-6mm paint chip on the inside of the fork. Sadly I think the 2nd gen T1550 looks to have better paint options, granted I have no clue is quality wise how they are. I mentioned in another post that the seatpost on my build was at it's max insertion, but for me I still needed a touch of insertion for a proper fit, thus I brought my seatpost to a LBS and they cut 20mm off for $20, thus this gives me at least 1/2" of room in case my seatpost slips. The bike with pedals, cages, mouts, sensors, single side power meter weighs 16.5lbs with clinchers and TPU tubes with the only real weight weenie parts being the Galfer Wave CL rotors and my Berk padded saddle. In contrast my MY22 Foil RC weighs 17.5lbs but that has tubeless tires and a much heavier saddle. All in all when I went to go pickup my T1550 from the shop since I had it built up there maybe 3-4 people came up to me to admire the bike and told me how much they liked it and even recognized Winspace from maybe your channel or GC Performance or whoever, however when I went to a different shop (Trek dealer) to get my seatpost cut the service manager made a remark, "is that an Alibaba bike", and "you got to watch out for those bikes, we get a lot of bikes like that that fail", and "the UCI sticker doesn't matter". I am not denying that buying a big Western brand has its merits especially when it comes to RMA or possible getting parts long term, but in terms of reliability or tolerances I found the T1500, T1550, and the Hyper wheels to be 95%+ the quality and performance of ANY big name brand bike. IMO the T1500 series or really any Winspace is so good it allows you to build bikes that compete with big Western brands at much lower prices or it allows you to build bikes with better components. My T1550 not including labor would have been $6K in parts granted a ceramic BB and jockey wheels and Red chains and cassette are not necessary but at that price really the only bikes that are offering similar value are Canyon with the Ultimate or their previous gen Aeroad or the new Trek Madone SL 7 Gen 8 which doesn't come with a power meter and is 17.38lbs stock and is $6500.

You’ll have to let me know how you find the new T1550. I’ve really enjoyed mine. After you mentioned the paint thing I went and checked mine and it seems ok, I imagine they do them in batches, and perhaps you got a bit unlucky. People are still finding the brand name so a lot of people in the UK don’t know it yet. The quality has been excellent though and I’ve done more than enough miles to say that it’s been brilliant. I’ll have to do a full cost break down on my new SLC 3.0 build that I’m doing. Thanks for following along

One or two times I got very close but not by just riding but a strict training regime and best possible healthy eating habits. And I'm just now at the age of 36. I think that ramp tests are inaccurate but in my experience, pretty much all training programs seem to prescribe based on your FTP and the level matches quite nicely with FTP from ramp tests. ie. something that should be maximal is maximal. FTP is just a number and I think that a lot of training prescriptions might be a bit easy if they were based on "true" FTPs.

You are saying here that lower cadence focuses more on building leg strength. I have plenty of strength but run out of breath far too easily. I can't figure out how to best improve how long I can go without running out of breath. I often hear Zone 2 is optimal for building the heart and cardiovascular system, but definitions vary widely anywhere from 60-80% max heart rate. I also know you can reach Zone 2 with many very different combinations of cadence, resistance, and duration. Since lower cadence more increases muscle, what cadence do you think most increases heart size and cardiovascular adaptations? Should I focus on increasing cadence or duration to most increase heart size and cardiovascular adaptations? What heart rate percent range do you think maximizes heart adaptations?
