I watched this video for the first time last year and appreciate your suggestions. I use dill seed heads in bouquets but stopped using the flowers because they drop pollen and make a mess. I tried cinnamon basil this year but am not a fan of the scent. I love the scent and lighter color of lemon basil, though. I tried oregano in bouquets for the first time this year and enjoyed using it. I hope to be able to try using mint next year.

I absolutely LOVE Lupines. I’ve been trying to grow some for a while and have some questions. I’m in zone 9. I planted Lupine seeds four years ago. I direct planted into my garden space. The first year nothing. Second year, the greenery came up, now in the 4th growing year I have the beautiful green plant/leaves, which has started to spread and looks nice and healthy, but still no flowers! They are in mixed sun exposure, our sun is pretty intense in summer. Any advise?

Watching this made me cry. We too had a similar disaster when our property and business was hit by the black summer 2019 bushfires here in Australia. It is with grit and sheer determination that we refused to give up, to move away. Instead we helped our community and many other communities to have food and shelter and then began the task of looking after ourselves. Every now and again I get asked to speak publicly about our resilience and through tears recalling that horrible day and the years that have followed I tell people “we had to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and tackle one day at a time” Congratulations on rebuilding and Im truly glad Ive discovered your you tube channel. Much love Theresa - Mogo Australia x

Greetings from Finland! Thank you very much for all the teachings you have given me over the years! Im Brazilian born in the countryside and now living in Finland. I started a small flower farm but my biggest problem here is water because besides living near the sea, my soil has a lot of copper. I started collecting and storing a lot of raining water :-) My question is: How to you water the plants in such a large area? Thank you very much for your attention😊

I’m a little late here! When planting your succession, do you amend the soil at all? Or just pull out spend flowers and replant in same spot?

Thank you! First and foremost, I’ve been prouncing it ‘Lu-pINE’ like a pine tree. I was gifted a wildflower mix and I happen to have two of these and I did not know they were perennials, so that’s cute.

Japanese beetles are the worst. They can completely defoliate a plant. I have had the most luck with Japanese beetles traps and eliminating the bugs that way.

I’ve planted winter hardy hibiscus as a bait plant. It’s really helped! They munch on it, then the plant recovers after the beetles die back.

Looking amazing! Beautiful time of year! Love watching as its Winter where i am (New Zealand) when you do U Pick do you explain about harvesting to the customers like for example what stages to cut certain flowers? Or do you just let them go for it? Also do you give them buckets of water to harvest into or do they just collect a bunch in there hand and take home and put into water? Just curious as i grow cut flowers (smaller scale than yours) but was thinking of trialing some U pick days! I like the idea esp when there is abundance in the summer 😊

That’s a butta squash. Thanks for the tip on neem oil. We’ve been using permethrin in our orchard and it has to be reapplied every week or two. Neem sounds more natural.

Loved the video. I've always been a lavendar freak. Your lavendar fields harvested or not just amaze me (put a smile on my face). I've tried growing lavendar in Oklahoma, and usually end up with a few little nubs Then over a short time, the nubs die. I'm sure it has to do with our extreme heat/weather. I've ordered your lavendar oil, and soap. I'm looking forward to using them😊 Japanese beetles are truly a pain for gardeners. The chickens however, love them...for chicken snacks. Have you tried Beetle bags. I have a few friends who own vegetable gardens, and have fruit trees who are dealing with the Japanese Beetles as well. The Beetle Bags have helped. Jake and his family (internet friend) at Whitehouse on the Hill vlog use the bags, and has success on capturing a lot of the beetles. I've attached a video showing the bag setup for capturing beetles.

Thanks for your support! We've tried the beetle bags and questioned whether they attracted more to the farm than they caught. We apply milky spore in the fall which helps. The extra rain we've had this year has been great for the bugs.

Quick question! My daughter is trying to start a flower farm in our town and right now she’s just selling at a farmers market. Does she need to have a sales tax certificate in order to do that and is she supposed to be collecting sales tax on what she sells at the farmers market?
