That field of wildflowers is lovely. I think we're going to put in about 3 acres of something like that next year.

I love watching all of your videos! I am attempting to model my farm after yours. I just have to tell you that I love LOVE everything you're doing, and.....I am so tickled to see that y'all have weeds in your driveway and other areas and I don't feel so bad about MINE!! 😂😂 If you guys have the same struggles, I feel more "normal".

That’s a butta squash. Thanks for the tip on neem oil. We’ve been using permethrin in our orchard and it has to be reapplied every week or two. Neem sounds more natural.

I’ve planted winter hardy hibiscus as a bait plant. It’s really helped! They munch on it, then the plant recovers after the beetles die back.

Looking amazing! Beautiful time of year! Love watching as its Winter where i am (New Zealand) when you do U Pick do you explain about harvesting to the customers like for example what stages to cut certain flowers? Or do you just let them go for it? Also do you give them buckets of water to harvest into or do they just collect a bunch in there hand and take home and put into water? Just curious as i grow cut flowers (smaller scale than yours) but was thinking of trialing some U pick days! I like the idea esp when there is abundance in the summer 😊

Loved the video. I've always been a lavendar freak. Your lavendar fields harvested or not just amaze me (put a smile on my face). I've tried growing lavendar in Oklahoma, and usually end up with a few little nubs Then over a short time, the nubs die. I'm sure it has to do with our extreme heat/weather. I've ordered your lavendar oil, and soap. I'm looking forward to using them😊 Japanese beetles are truly a pain for gardeners. The chickens however, love them...for chicken snacks. Have you tried Beetle bags. I have a few friends who own vegetable gardens, and have fruit trees who are dealing with the Japanese Beetles as well. The Beetle Bags have helped. Jake and his family (internet friend) at Whitehouse on the Hill vlog use the bags, and has success on capturing a lot of the beetles. I've attached a video showing the bag setup for capturing beetles.

Thanks for your support! We've tried the beetle bags and questioned whether they attracted more to the farm than they caught. We apply milky spore in the fall which helps. The extra rain we've had this year has been great for the bugs.

Japanese beetles are the worst. They can completely defoliate a plant. I have had the most luck with Japanese beetles traps and eliminating the bugs that way.
