The 2 cup water rice was undercooked, because it was undercooked, not because it had too little water.

I dunno. I think a lot of people shift to more indulgent eating habits in autumn/around Halloween and more calorie conscious from New Years through summer.

The theorist team are all healthy individuals with good self control and a calorie tracking app. Throw in some average thick Americans, have a third party track their calories, give them plenty of food and alcohol and you'll probably see 3-5k calorie intakes on those days.

Die Hard is a movie about a struggling father traveling home for Christmas, something goes wrong, and then he does whatever it takes to get to his daughter while becoming a better person in the process. That is a Christmas movie

Nothing like omitting science and pushing a narrative. Cold water is the only "calorie negative" thing you can have. Chewing a lot doesn't make anything "negative calorie" it's just you making muscles work. I am not a scientist but I do think that is achievable by exercising 😅

I'm not explicitly attribute any of this to the departure of MatPat, but I'm really disappointed with how the recent theory videos are turning out. The scripting seems less structured overall: there's barely any articulation of the concepts or shorthands mentioned, there's not much effort in structuring abstract comparisons of your findings, the methodologies are just flat-out wrong more often than not, and there is a LOT of simplification and omissions that just make the video feel incomplete. This causes everything else to suffer - the VO, the editing, really the entire presentation as a whole - the video is a mess, with no takeaway or conclusion of any kind, neither any remarks like "more research needed"/"these are trends that differ across people." Food Theory is paced so differently nowadays, it dampens the enjoyment of tuning in for every new video

before finishing the video I'm gonna say, it's not over eating; either people are already on an insane diet, or the food is lower volume but higher in callories.

Anybody else’s eating disorder get triggered by this video? No… just me? 😂 I feel like the holidays are the only days of the year where I’m permitted to eat like the average person. Using this to shill a dieting app also feels yucky.

Its always the type of food in my eyes. I used to think I “overate” but in reality I felt sluggish and bloaty because the holidays is the time for those high calories, sugars and carbs. But who can blame us….there’s so many yummy recipes🥰🥰🥰
