92' solidified my love for Ministry, after loving them since their mid-80's and their coolest of alt dance stuff, Mind followed by Psalm 69, was just total WOW. But SO much stuff I missed from them interview-wise. How I wish I saw all of it then. I basically got my news from the Alternative music mag, and Alternative Nation or 120 minutes on Mtv, Sunday nights I think, I worked the rest of the week, so was the only thing I caught. Made it more exciting when you found stuff I suppose, compared to today haahaa

Is it just me or is it that when Al is wearing his Chicago cop outfit and talking he looks and sounds younger than he actually is in the video or picture like he's a kid and in his early 20s. In this video, he looks and sounds like a hispanic (Cuban or Mexican) 22-25 year old that just grew a goatee being interviewed. When he's wearing his cowboy hat and has a full goatee he looks and sounds like a middle aged cowboy that does music as a side job than having a ranch and a family which is his most iconic look.

Ah City Limits , my education in good music before the internet . Much Music was great back then . They did one of their "Spotlight" shows on industrial . It had most of this plus Laibach , Godflesh , Foetus , Coil , NIN , and played pretty much prime time in the evening .

Funny hearing about how Ministry’s record label gave Al all this money to come up with their next album (Psalm 69) and they just spent it all on drugs 😅. They got a brilliant LP out of it though.

I've always found it interesting that cEvin Key (Kevin Crompton) has been the "voice" of Skinny Puppy for *every* band interview I've seen, despite 'OhGr' (Kevin Ogilvie) being the vocalist & main performer / "frontman". After being a die-hard Puppy fan for over 34 years, I've always felt like the existence of the band was very akin to a Yin & Yang scenario. Where, cEvin (and later Dwayne, as well) crafted these beautifully designed horror-scapes and superbly creative drum sounds & dark heavy beats, and then handed a nearly complete "song package" to Ogre, without lyrics or even a song concept (other than perhaps some 'treatments' -- a.k.a. "samples" which maybe (probably?) were added just prior to or during post-production after Ogre added his lyrics). Ogre then took each song in whatever vocal direction he wanted to, which gave the song its ultimate "meaning" - no matter what cEvin (or Dwayne) really intended. I think in a large part this 'odd split' in the way the songs were built created the band's chaos, uncomfortable relationships, and their multiple "endings " of the band Skinny Puppy itself. I can't imagine any of their songs would have the same dark, chaotic, and often uncomfortable 'feel' if they created the songs like most bands do -- working in unison and harmony, side-by-side throughout the process.

Can you imagine if Al had released essentially a "Psalms 2.0" while riding that level of popularity (instead of Filth Pig)?! I'm so glad that he didn't.

So, I had a huge project of finishing my basement. It was a 6 month process, and I love having tunes in the background while I work, so I was streaming SomaFM "Underground 80's". On the stream, "Masks" , "Just Like You" and "Breaking Up" played a number of times where I had to stop what I was doing to find out who the artist was. So cool that it was Images in Vogue. As a guy from Toronto, I had no idea cEvin Key was the original drummer from IIV. I was a pretty big SP fan back in late 80's early 90's.

What a pirate this man has been. Magic times. The late 80s early 90s were truly special and the last great years for rock n roll. Rock n roll is not dead but it definitely doesn’t have the relevance that it once had. Hip hop took that over.

It’s interesting to see these guys today, now that they got old enough to not care about putting out a fashion image and postering as unapproachable, depressed rebels. I will say though, their music was better back then.

Joey shithead at 30 -35 ish??? Saw my first Doa show in kamloops at 13 yrs of age. The best Doa show I ever saw or played on was my 18th birthday show at the alert in kamloops. Fuckin one of only 4 times I saw DOA with the Joey/Randy Rampage (rip) line up the drum was either the great baldini or an unknown.

As a kindred spirit of 2023. I'm here to point out something you might have missed. I also missed the live version. Beautiful recording though. The live show created so much upheaval. It's said people ran screaming from the venue. Some laid in the aisles catatonic. Others literally crying in seats. Did you see Too Dark Park? It was near unspeakable horror. Perfection

OHHGR can be annoying he does everything he can to get into movies or bands, overload dude too much exposure can ruin your band, SP is done put the puppy to sleep, they lost their edge but OHHGR's solo career is still kickin, total butt love all his albums, they are perfect albums not one bad song in his profile of amazing music he pumps out! hope he does not lose his edge, great engineer and songwriter perfecto artiste.

I love these gentlemen, they created their own reality and their own MOVEMENT they are unique unto themselves, I had my hair long black and spiked my hair to heaven just like them. I loved it! I had many girlfriends back then, I wore make-up pale and wicked Love to get back those days, A constant party everywhere I went till 95 the Pigs ruined it and made life a hell, they fanned out everybody they could, lets start another decade party maybe this time it will never end?
