These work great for painting the rust repairs I do(rockers, cab corner, ect) i crank the pressure up a bit for clear until I like what I see. No gauge. Just spray outs and how it sounds

Just remember that desicant has a powder residue on it you need good filters downstream

So I didn't know you could (successfully) mix painting systems. Rustoleum is an oil enamel; the clear coats you mentioned, I believe, are urethane products. I don't think they chemically "bond" to each other. It might look good for a while but ultimately I think the clear coat will peel away from the rustoleum. Also, what would be your re-coat windows (flash time). Rustoleum takes alot longer to dry than urethane paints. Would you have to let the rustoleum completely dry (for days) before adding the pearled clear on top of it? You might get solvent pop it the rustoleum is still drying underneath fully cured urethane clear coat.

It's always best to wear black when wet sanding. This way, you can identify the progress you made once the water dries. I like that color blue.

Is the paint formula on the label? My concern with buying paint from TCP is that if I ever have to buy more, I'd be be concerned that it wouldn't match. It'd be nice if I could simply take the can to a local paint supply and have them mix some up.

Red yellow and blue don't give near as nice colors as magenta, yellow, and cyan do. Red yellow and blue always results in dull colors. I like the nice idea though and was actually wondering if this could be done

I just bought some silver metal flake 0.004 size. Can I just add that to the rust-oleum and spray through a 1.4 tip or should I use my 1.8 tip? I would think if I used the 1.8 tip the paint shouldn't be mixed 1:1 but 3:1?

Do you have to thin it out more to shoot with a hvlp gun?

Nice heads for the money. Nice port cleanup. If you will lay the heads down when you lap the valves in a vertical position the valve laps centered up on the seat better. Put like a 2x4 block on each end. Use a socket on the valve seals close to the diameter of the steel clad and tap seals on gently. Good luck with your build. 👍 I'll subscribe to your channel. I have had good results mixing Rust-Oleum enamel, with upol 4-1 European nano clear, and upol system 20 hardener. I have used 1-3-1 and 2-2-1 with good results. Sunshine red covered in two coats with the 1 part red, 3 parts clear, 1 part hardener. No reducer was needed.

I have seen rustolem at homedepot but where do you get clear coat and that powder?
