I understand what you are saying, but i actually think your thinking may be clouded by your expertise. I am by no means an ancient language expert, i'm a novice everything! But i have seen a lot of Bible decoding, using the letter's numerical value to tell a story, different shapes of letters, all the numerical code theories of placement, etc. There are more to me that do not hold water than that do, alot of times if you are wanting to find something bad enough you will find a way, That being said, i have seen a few of these that have been absolutely amazing, where it goes far beyond reason to believe these codes or meanings did not exist, not wishful thinking, but something truly revealed, and they have been proven to me beyond my wildest expectations, and my expectations are high! I know there are those who believe everything is in the Bible, coded in one way or several, i am not sure of that idea, i've seen nothing on that scale, but it truly would not surprise me. The key thing wr need to remember in my mind is that the Bible is a mystical work, inspired by God. It doesnot have to fallow any rules other than those God has applied himself, and for that reason i keep my mind open to these things. My studied let me to believe it was Shem... And Abraham knew very well who Shem was, and the retainers the Abram used to fight and get Lot back probably came from Shem "Melchizedek".
