It's a humbling experience being in the presence of an apex predator. Well, terrifying in the moment and humbling after the fact. I'm guessing this shark was around the 4 m mark. Where were you at the time?
@Frostyfarmer4204 ай бұрын
@DownDeep we were around 30 miles off the coast on New jersey tuna fishing. we were in 600 feet of water, this was a while ago, and I always think about where it is right now. I hope it's still swimming somewhere. I think about it a lot it really affected me in a way I can't explain

@@DownDeep Hahaha yeah the youtube algorithm is a funny one! It took a fair few of my videos a year or so before the algorithm actually picked it up and started pushing it. How was the audience retention on this one, I can imagine it'd be pretty high given it's a shorter video?
@DownDeep4 ай бұрын
@EthanYeo1 this one might still have a chance😅 it has 74% retention for the first 30 seconds and 57.5% retention overall. Pretty good numbers for my channel. Ctr is 6.6% which is a little lower than normal. I wonder if youtube is trying to push longer videos over the shorter ones

Great advice to drop weight belt. Here in South Africa we unbuckle our belt when ascending from a deep dive holding onto the loose end. If you blackout you’ll let go and your belt will fall away. Can save your life.
@DownDeep4 ай бұрын
I do this too! Not every dive though. Only if I feel a little off or I stayed on the bottom a little too long. Might be a good idea for a video. Little things like that that some people don't think about that can save your life. Thanks for the comment🙂
@seanmitchell5044 ай бұрын
@@DownDeep Yes. Not every dive. We also have a clip on a short lanyard on our belt to attach to our float line and jettison our welt belt when an accelerated accent seems prudent. I suggested to Rob Allen last week that he should do a video suggesting some of these common sense safety measures. The more KZbin sites that get this information out there the better. Lives could be saved.
