I understand the skill required to free dive to 20m+ for a min or so. I shoot great fish less than 10m and not putting myself at as much risk

Where are you from Clayton? Unfortunately, in high population areas there is a lot of pressure on the easy to dive reefs (10m or less) It is really hard to find good fish to shoot where there are thousands of spearfishers. When you can dive a bit deeper, it allows you to spear reefs that don't see a lot of spearos. I don't think it is riskier when you take the years to develop your skills and practice a good dive buddy system. Dive safe mate🙂

I'm freediving mate, no scuba. I have actually never scuba dived. It's also illegal to spearfish and scuba in Australia. Sorry you found it boring 😪
