Pepe managed to be insanely durable, destructive and to run even when put half-way on its side. It is just an impressive machine that i want to see more of.

Gods below, do I love this robot! Always a dynamic watch :) 100/10 for style points, too - one of the NHRL announcers at the qualifiers yesterday said that whenever they watch a Pepe fight they "go home and have nightmares about 17 of them chasing me in a park" 🤣

I got boxes full of Pepe! But here's the thing Mac, Pepe doesn't exist. So I start marching my way down to Carol at H.R. and what do I find when I get there? Not a single g.d. desk. This whole place is a g.d. ghost town. Half of these people don't even exist.

The cylinder is a hollow aluminum tube. steel disks slide onto the tube from the side. The disks do the damaged. For safety reasons I usually don't have the disks attached when I'm driving the robot around at home.

We're told the housebots are like 300lb so does that mean both pepe Sylvia and red storm could flip over full 250lb heavyweights? These featherweight could actually beat some non invertible battlebots.

I think it'd probably be harder than that. The housebots are 300lbs or so, but their weight distribution is much different. A lot of engineering goes into lowering your center of gravity/maximizing stability for real heavyweights, and I don't think the housebots are nearly as stable for their weight.

@@lane9668 Yeah. If you hear any heavyweight designers talk about engineering, they focus a lot on "rest state" or, where the bot will roll toward if it is on its side/back/front (sometimes top). They are heavily engineered to like being in a particular orientation. It saves having to put in self-righting systems in a lot of cases.

In theory, yes, which is terrifying. Especially some of the more compact ones. In practice, no, since heavyweights do way more damage than featherweights and would probably damage the drum too much before it could land meaningful contact. Plus they are typically designed to not be flipped easily, unlike NHRL House Bots which don't have to worry to much about that due to their weight.

Both these "featherweights" are oversized, and considering Pepe Silvia is basically a 30lb drum with 15lb legs, perhaps not so surprising it can flip things

How is it supposed to hit anything with the drum when the legs are wider than the body ?

@@Doodmeister0 in these early test videos the weapon disks are not attached to the drum. The weapons stick out past the legs when the robots in its normal walking position.

Great fight. This guy builds this incredible robot and has also mastered the Weird Science machine according to the results shown on the NHRL Pepe short. He is a GOD ❤

Pepe lost his main armor. A single structure is more reliable than screwed or riveted parts. For a small detail he lost the fight. It was a good fight.
