hello, great video. when you disassemble the forks, after you reassemble them do you have to do a reset of the electronic part? because I reassembled the forks and hydraulic brakes in compression and extension do not work....

Again - awesome work done here ! Thank you for taking us with you through this process. Have you been thinking of using Screws in a different colour (black for example), so the carbon-Finish isn‘t disturbed like with the original steel-screws ? And what are your plans for the tank ?
@zrcarbon99372 күн бұрын
Many thanks for the compliment! I thought about it yes, but I quite like the stainless steel bolts and washers on the fairing. I would like to make a carbon fiber tank. Also planning to do just a carbon tank cover. Never done those before. Will be a good learning experience for me 🏍️🛠️🤘

@zrcarbon99378 күн бұрын
Hey That’s bad The post curing temperature must be increased very slowly Start on 60c for two hours and every two hours rise the temp with 10 degrees Celsius up to 120.

If you're going to the length of making a carbon fuel tank, consider incorporating a superbike style airbox, with the bottom of the tank as the airbox lid. Just like the old ZX7R, the 6s regardless of model and year all suffer from a lack of airbox volume - and the intake noises would be nice too ^^
@zrcarbon993721 күн бұрын
Hey! I would love to do that. The resources and technical skills are not on my side. 😅 With aluminium it would be so easy but composite is a different story. This gas tank will be my first composite tank ever. The video will be interesting I promise 🏍️🛠️🤘
@protator21 күн бұрын
@@zrcarbon9937 The principle is really simple. The lower half of the airbox is simply extended to the sides and forms a flange on top of the frame on all sides, so that the lower edge of the tank can seal against it. Theoretically, you could still do that later but it'd be easier to do it in one go (if the OEM tank can be sacrificed, otherwise you'd have to pull a fiberglass plug from the original mould, modify the underside and then re-make the lower half of the mould. ) But hey, composite fuel tanks are tricky - you might end up with a plug or two anyway. ^^

Hey Thanks for the compliment. I’m still trying to get my head around the fuel cap. Did you replace the original fuel cap for an aftermarket fuel cap? If you don’t mind me to ask? 🛠️🤘
@AdamWarwicker21 күн бұрын
@zrcarbon9937 most of my bikes are for the track, so I use quick release caps. For a Suzuki I used an aftermarket fuel cap that is the screw type, very simple design. But I would like to make a carbon one that is a 1/4 turn type for my Aprilia and Ducati. Still a very simple design, but with the addition of a spring in the cap. There are carbon fibre quick release fuel caps like that on the market for Ducati.
