Just wondering what power supply that is on the left hand side? Thanks

A lot of the fun in ham radio is the acquisition of equipment and laying out the shack to meet the requirements of a person's interests. I got a late start but have been a ham for about a quarter of a century. Its a great hobby and it can help to fill the gaps during emergencies. 73's.

Are you planning to use LED strip to help light up under desktop radio shack? I noticed on another vid (lol) you've duck tape under your chair there with you.

Old video at this point, but damn, my "shack" is my computer desk with a riser on it and my 7300 stuffed under the riser along with my PS and my ATU, oh and my desk mic... That's it!

Yep thinking the same here. We seem to be emulating the US hams where no Ham Shack is complete with the now customary 4 massive computer screens, two or three shelves full of equipment and all switched on when making what seems to be the obligatory KZbin video.

In the USA the Homeowners Association would have a party ruining your hobby. Thats why those miserable psychopaths exist. Taking down your antenna alone would have given them standing orgasms . In the USA there are a type of people in housing projects that live to ruin lives, lol. Good on you

Hang in there Ham Shack man. You will eventually graduate to a full Ham Shack with all of the nifty toys. I remember when I only had a few gadgets. I am also sorry you received a severely bent monitor. It seems to be working, though. Give yourself a few more years and keep saving those pennies...you will get there. Cheers mate.

I must agree with so many here... very impressive ham shack. Well thought out with very good equipment... May I ask, and I will assume the answer is no, are you married? Marriage seems to be an item that makes projects like this almost impossible. I am personally just getting started building my radio desk/area.... I have a Icom IC-746 pro, IC-9700, IC-2730A, HR-2510 with chip switch, plus a number of other items needed.... but it's all for nothing if you don't have antenna's to reach out and touch folks...that is my next project at this point... again, beautiful shack you have !!
@TheHamshack7 ай бұрын
No I'm single but was married for 11 years. We are best of friends though. My hobby had nothing to do with my marriage tho but I'm not always on the radio. I just knew how I always wanted my own ham shack. I am pretty much retired now a days. I'm 55 years old but yes it's a lovely hobby. Thanks for the kind compliments. I actually built my shack why I was very poorly as it kept me focused. Still not well but that's life. Thanks again. Will do more vids soon. 73's for now James G0SEC

It's not about the cost for me it's about enjoying my hobby the way that's ideal for the bands I'm on but my shack has sort of developed over many years of selling the old and upgrading to the new etc. if I had a boat in the harbour it would cost money so it depends what it is you like. I watched your videos on the shack, also some from others, and my question is how do you (and would like to hear from others) do cable management? Also, when you need to work on things being able to pull the device out far enough to disconnect and reconnect the cables. I am using an old wooden school teachers type desk that is very heavy but I eventually put it on wheels so I can easily get behind it. When I first rewired things it looked good but even that now ended up looking like a rats nest. Any ideas and comments would be appreciated. 73-W8ITC
