At the end of BLAME! Killy stop antagonizing the Silicon Life because the Net Sphere had been stabilized and all civilization can co-exist in the Mega Structure. The Human after the Safegaurd had stop functioning is so not different from the Silicon Life. They start hunting down even peaceful Silicon Life's settlement not unlike the Silicon Life did to them before the Net Sphere was in chaos. The Admin is constantly sending their agents to dismantle old and still active Safeguard structure. (These structure still trying to kill all life without the Net Terminal Gene)

The main point is: is not all AI, most of the tings is 100% manual made, тhe images on the tech tree are enhanced with artist-made AI sketches that are further retouched by the artist. And the SKI-fi tech tree in a game is exactly one of the things for which AI is applicable because it is a fantasy that does not require detailed knowledge of real objects. They look good doing their job (considering they could have been ugly stylized icons) and most people wouldn't even know they were AI if the studio dudes hadn't written it

Bleach is one of my favorite shonens ever. I feel bad you had to go through that shitty ass filler arc 😭. But I have a feeling that you'd not like Bleach after Soul Society. The Arrancar arc, despite how good it was, you will definitely not like that arc lol. It's Soul Society but with more fights and bankais thrown around. Although it's much deeper than any other arc. You stated Bleach kinda lost it's style after soul society arc and everybody got a shovel face but I heavily disagree. I think it gets better especially in the Fullbring arc but maybe that's just me 😅

Honestly just pay more attention and if you cant take the time to look deeply in the pannels and use your head to connect the dots that is literally one of the best parts about it you cant just go over it like another manga and then when it gets complicated BLAME! the art.

I've rewatched the show several times with both CA and Hidive's subs, and honestly both have their own pros and cons, including instances of noticeable mistranslations. However, overall, I prefer Hidive's subtitles. One of the main reasons is the pacing of the subtitles. Given that the show is dialogue-heavy and delves into complex political and philosophical ideas, I find that CA's subtitles move way too quickly, not allowing enough time to fully digest and process each line. This rapid pacing often left me struggling to fully absorb and comprehend each line, especially during my initial viewing, where I occasionally felt overwhelmed and lost. In contrast, Hidive's subtitles are much more appropriately paced, which significantly enhances the viewing experience and aids in better understanding the show's nuanced ideas, imo.

Okay, so… I read the whole thing in one sitting. Couple of points: The manga is about how letting yourself just drift through your life without much agency leaves you with a bunch of regrets. First of all, having a pregnant wife and preparing to become a dad, is pretty fuckin’ difficult for all parties involved. Making you hate the wife is neither the point or the goal. Choosing to go to the café instead of going home to your emotionally unstable pregnant wife is a dickish, but absolutely understandable thing. It’s the same as sitting in a pub for a few hours in western culture. Middle school in Japan is from 12-15 years old, that’s when usually teenagers discover their sexuality but don’t really know how to express it. Toki pushed Tono away because a weird thing she did once. They were children, and as MC grew older he started to have regrets about pushing a girl away who seemed to really like him. It’s not because he has a crush on a literal child, that’s a really gross oversimplification. Internet cafés in Japan are usually used by either freeloaders or those who have nowhere else to go as a kind of safe haven. It’s much different then how we use them in western cultures. That’s the reason why most of the characters are cowardly and easy to control. That’s why they are so quick to turn into animalistic predators in such a short amount of time. Most of Oshimi’s characters are usually Beta-Males as you put it, it’s kind of his whole shtick. If you can’t take that, don’t read his works. That’s why I was so suprised, that there are multiple instances when the MC actually attacks the “big homeless man” head on to protect the others, that’s usually not how Oshimi’s protagonists work. I will actually agree with you on a couple of things. I really was able to predict the final twist like, halfway through the story, but the manga actually gives itself away in the very first volume, so yeah it’s pretty easy to figure out. Also there really is too much rape going on, it really gets tasteless after a while. The final rape of the girl with the glasses is truly unnecessary. But aside from that it stays pretty believable until the very end, these are actually the exact kind of people who would take part in shit like this. I really recommend you to read about “Strip search phone call scam” on wikipedia and other platforms to truly understand how much horrible things people are capable of under pressure. Where the manga really drops the ball is when it turns out that if you die in this world you get back with all your memories of both your parallel lives. There is absolutely no question in any of the characters about retaining these absolutely horrible memories except for the murderer guy. And after they get back, in the epilogue everyone is just happy and fine, no mental scars are visible on anyone. There is a moral conundrum missing. But this story was about the dangers of living in the past and not moving forward in life. Almost all characters have to learn that their past mistakes are not what really defines them. It also tries to show how stressful situations can turn weak people into their worst possible selves. I think the manga conveys these two things pretty well. It’s by no means a fantastic work, and it’s pretty unlikely I’ll ever recommend it to anyone, I just think that your critique was pretty shallow, and shows lots of ignorance towards the cultural background behind the story. You don’t even mention how it’s a variation on “The Drifting Classroom” manga. You were too busy being triggered by rape and beta-males and all that shit and completely lost sight what the story actually wants to address, and why it was written in the first place. I’m trying to read all of the Shuzo Oshimi’s stories at the moment, this was the first one in his body of work which wasn’t just pervy fantasy but had some actual substance. “Devil’s Ecstasy” was a whoooole lot worse. I couldn’t even finish that shit, and it’s half as long as this one!

Good luck on your phd. Next time I suggest watching the whole video because alot of what you wrote I do address and quite clearly so. I provide a pretty rational frustration for many of the story elements and we have the same understanding of the plot so I'm not sure why you think I failed to grasp that due to the frustrations lol. Being ESL has to be hard so i was pretty gentle with this reply but yeah before you write 8 paragraphs you should atleast watch the video lmao.

Anyones opinion on art is as valid is the argument they make about it. Being the author doesn't grant additional logical weight. Beyond that peoples experiences are their own, I prefer not to taint my experience of art by authorial intent, generally. So yes, most of the time.

I completely agree with all ur critiques and i wish people were more open to them because they are undeniably true😭😭 I will forever adore Blame! But the story is so insanely convoluted which wouldn't be an issue if it ended up even remotely making sense but it really doesn't😭 and like ALOT of people the true enjoyment for me while reading Blame! Came from the great art and thats it☠️🙏🏼 id be lying if i said i cared much about the plot beyond the surface level(which even then is still hard to follow)😭 I just truly fell in love with the manga purely for the vibes, aesthetic, and character designs🙏🏼 speaking of characters i love killy and cibo, i think they're so cool and their friendship is everything to me and thats all i rlly have to say about them😭 i didnt really care for any other characters besides maybe the little sprite things that helped killy and cibo but thats it😭 the most i have to say abt everyone else that was relevant to the story was that they looked really cool and badass🙏🏼 Anyways regardless of the flaws Blame! still holds up as an interesting and so very oddly captivating manga, its such a fun journey when ur not ripping ur hair out inspecting every panel and rare peice of dialogue trying to descipher the lore or what is going on in most fight scenes😭 like take a shot everytime killy loses his arm in a fight☠️☠️😭😭

On point review. Finished Blame last week and found myself agreeing with most of your points, especially about how the art gets very hard to follow at times. I also agree that Blame doesn't really have a good story, there's a reason why everyone only mentions the worldbuilding of Blame rather than the actual events that take place in the manga - it's because the worldbuilding is the best part of it.

The city being large doesn’t make it dense. It’s definitely not even remotely close to dense enough to collapse into a black hole. People come up with wild ideas when they have no idea how physics work
@SciFiMangaGamesAnime

So is the gas clouds in the space, yet, something makes them gather and form stars (stars also, on average, not dense at all). If there are enough matter and gravity is allowed to do its thing, then, black hole will form. Eventually. With all respect, I cannot agree that said idea is 'wild'. On the other hand, the tech level of BLAME world is so high, that predicting what possible for builders to achieve is a Sisyphus work.
