Honestly, I don't think it really matters as long as there's some kind of pressure differential and the air is moving. But even with PC cases, that's a huge debate.

@@protomor alright, imma buy a usb adapter for the fan cause i dont know how u plugged it lol but its more easier for me to understand with a usb adapter (on/off usb to fan and a usb a female to usb a male to make the cable longer) then i will just plug in into my pc, it will do the same job, i didnt modified my g29, only the steering wheel, butt cause of the size and the weight of the wheel i put on it, the g29 is almost overheating and i heard a lot of people saying that they put a custom steering wheel and their g29 just burned thats why i want to put a fan to be secure

@@koyume6330 since I made the video, there's smaller fans that you can fit lots of different ways but your idea will work. I highly suggest the RC car heatsinks and even thermal paste. Thoase will do so much for temps.

@@protomor yes but there is no output for the air so the hot air gonna stay in the base and it will heat After a certain ampunt of playing time

@@koyume6330 about 2:30 in the video, you can see the outlets cut out. So the fan can push air in the top, then it'll vent out the back. Or vice versa.

hi i have a problem with my g29, when there is the feedback hole turning to the right the steering wheel makes a loud noise of gears, as if it were creaking. if instead i turn to the left it is silent. Do you know by chance how to solve it? thanks

Something is loose. The type of stuff you're explaining looks like some of the screws that hold the base plate on. Flip the unit over and check underneath and make sure all the screws are tight. Next after that is the 3 srews that hold the steering wheel onto the center support. If neither of those are it, you're gonna have to open it up and poke around to see what's not tight.

@@protomor I opened the steering wheel completely, greased all the gears, then closed everything again, tightening every single screw, but it still makes the noise... could it be one of the two motors? Since it only makes noise on the right, maybe the one on the right?

@@samuelebravo4116 Hmm, the fact it's only on one direction usually means a lash issue. Where something isn't aligned. I dont' think it's the motor. But who knows.

@@samuelebravo4116 the locking plate that mounts the steering plate can be misaligned. I've seen the bow spring get misaligned as well. The bearings in the steering shaft could be going bad and causing the big gear to have slop. You can send me pic and video of the teardown and I can give my opinions. If a bearing is bad tho, I don't know where to get new ones

The g920 and g25 are infact different internally. The g25 has straight cut gears and the g920 have helical gears. I have both and the g25 takes a little bit more force to turn while off and its louder.

@@protomor I don't want to take mine apart, there is a KZbin video called Logitech g25 maintenance by BTG that shows it fully disassembled. They moved onto helical gears in the g27 and later models.

Additionally, I read somewhere that the Logitech wheels can operate on different APIs for force feedback depending on the game, some APIs allow the wheel to run at a higher torque all the time but clip peak torque events, whereas others maintain the dynamic range and leave headroom for peaks, this can give the impression that some wheels are consistently stronger than others, when most of them except for the DFGT have basically the same two motors. I only looked into this after a store clerk who had tried a few mentioned that the G923 was weaker for drifting compared to the G29 as it didn't correct as fast.

Hey Bro! Loved your video! Imhaving an issue with content manager, because even on developer mode, the option to extract sound doesnt show up for me, do you know what can cause this?

You have to make sure the FMOD stuff is enabled. Under the content manager plugins, make sure everything is checked and downlaoded. That's usually the issue.

@@protomor Just one more question please (wich I prob already know the answer) but, what I wanted to do is to add a transmition whining sound for a already existent RSR 2017 sound mod made by ACFAN, but im getting into the conclusion that even with all the sounds already extracted, I dont have the actual Fmod Project from that sound mod, wich means that I would always need to build the .bank from scratch and not just add something and export the .bank, right?

Is it possible for you to measure all the top part and make a custom model for future modifications? @@guri-cat4885 I mean I can help with that. there's all the wiring goes through the center axis of the wheel. So you can hook up all your buttons that way. Amazon sells button PCBs so that should be simple. Screen can be Arduino powered. Just make sure to not let the cables get rubbed through.

I just need the top part as a model so I can edit it for my needs, make custom holes, custom mounting and etc and then print it out oor send it to PCBWAY Also about buttons. I meant new buttons and not reusing the ones what are already there, I'm using Logitech G25 but top parts should be the same

Only if the rattling is because something is loose and you tighten it while you're in there. But no, it won't make the unit any quieter. If anything, it'll be louder.

sup yoshi im looking to complete a similar set off mods on my g923 however im looking to use the 2760 motors because i have heard that the torque on those motors are much more superior than the 18150s. i was hoping you could direct me with some advice and a product list or names of the items used. i know the basics needed such as motors fans and psu however ive heard some people talking about mosfets and other circuit board related mods that im a bit confused about. thanks in advance for your help!!

To me, if you need to replace mosfets, it's beyond what a normal person can do and cost wise not super worth it. I haven't looked into those motors but if the amp/volt requirements are similar, they should work. I do feel like you're getting close to the point where you'll break teeth though. Man, my H-Shifter only read the gears. Reverse reads like sixth gear and none of the buttons work. My Arduino connections are exactly like yours.

Impossible, the whole structure of the wheel would have to be changed with new parts and would probably involve 3D printing and etcs, but no one has done this before so you'd be on your own to even begin this crazy project

i finally figured it out to leave the sounds with their own settings. But do u know how the spatializer or 3D panner can be adjusted? Because right now, no matter which setting in the 3D panner i change, the sound is still 360 degrees. how can i get a mono sound?

This is the ONLY one that works you are the MVP bro!! I had been trying to use my G923 pedals without the wheel base for X-plane 12 and everywhere else on the internet has got it all wrong. Then I found your vid!! You absolutely nailed it, your wiring diagram is the only one that has actually been correct and it all works seamlessly. I was able to configure the two pedals on the same axis for a rudder with the config program as well, so an extra bonus there not needing vjoy or something. One thing to note is that the Ardunio IDE and the Arduino CODE must be sitting on the same hard drive, otherwise the upload to the board will fail. Thanks heaps bro you saved me $300 on flight pedals. The Arduino Leonardo and cables I used were under $10, and I now have perfectly good G923 pedals for my flight sim. 👊👊LEGEND

The video should explain the insides pretty well. Basically, disassemble, make sure it's aligned and spins fully, put back together. But I'd say 90% of what I see is that the sensor wheel is broken or dirty.
