wondering what makes you let John and Brandy be a couple ! I like it but just curious
@StoriesNStrategy9 ай бұрын
It was actually not my idea! I saw it in a video from Ani Bats and their kids looked so adorable! I instantly fell in love with the idea, because I had never thought of the two of them together. (It somehow never occurred to me to break up John and Jennifer) But at the time there was no opportunity to try it out for myself, because I already had an older Pleasantview going and no intention of starting a new one. So when, much later, I had the idea for this challenge, I thought it would be fun to use the PV townies as survivors. And then I remembered the John & Brandi thing and thought it would be a good way of finally seeing them together, so I added them to the mix. And they are really hard to keep apart, every second I'm not looking they will find each other's company. It really is the cutest thing ever. 🥰

What a cool episode! I really love the cute warehouse building you have. Have I got it right that it will be owned by John, and when you need other sims to take something from it, you'll temporarily load John's household at this lot, and give out the stuff like that? I assume that otherwise, the changes for the lot will not be changed. Sorry if I have missed an explanation of how that's gonna work 😅 The dogmeat reference!!! 🐕🦺💙 And how cool was it to see all the items for the new house laid out like that, I could really picture their cabin being assembled from that. I admire your patience in doing all that, I am way lazier 😂 For a moment, though, I was expecting you to use the bed and other furniture pieces as is rather than sell them. Using them would probably be cheaper, wouldn't it? 🤔 Can't wait to see the progress on the house and the rest of the community!
@StoriesNStrategy9 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, exactly! The changes won't save and they would get an infinite amount of resources. Which might be interesting down the line, for some tedious stuff, but it would feel OP to do it now. So either I'll load John's household for the time that others need to get stuff from the warehouse, or I'll make everything for sale, but really cheap. That last one would also mean John doing some "bookkeeping" for the inventory being taken, which takes time. And if I load John's household, I will send the ones visiting on a hiking trip or something, because I do want it to cost some time for them to go to the warehouse. The second and third set of crafting items should go faster, now that everyone has some more skills and we have more survivors. If they don't suffer from the heat strokes all the time that is! That's definitely going to be the new challenge! 😄 Yes, Dogmeat! We had to add him. ❤️ I guess the crafted items would be cheaper yes, but I don't really like how they look. So I wanted some freedom in decorating the cabins and decided to trade them in instead. But the original plan was definitely to use the crafted items! It does make a lot of sense to do that. Hoping to return to the challenge soon! 😊

Ahhh I just finished the episode!! I just loved this one, it was so exciting to see the progression of the town and getting that cabin from John and Brandi felt like such a HUGE moment and achievement!!! (I really want to try this challenge but honestly I'm terrified lol... And don't really have time hahaha) Loved the toilet block scavenging lot, that was another really cool one. I was actually thinking to myself right as you said it, that it would be good to build all of the scavenging lots a long time before you scavenge them so you kind of forget what's there. Also well done John on his chat with Eli, that went so well. Heatstroke is no joke, that can be a real challenge in my medieval gameplay too. And lastly... AWWW, NOOBOO!!!!!
@StoriesNStrategy9 ай бұрын
@@TeaAddict Ah, I'm glad it did feel like an achievement! It sure did when playing the challenge. They worked so hard for this! 😅 The next ones will have the same requirements, but it will be a bit easier with more survivors and higher skills now than at the beginning. Yeah, I know how that feels. It was your Hansen River that pushed me over the edge to design a variation on the BACC. And specifically that one house, I think in the first tour? Where you showed all they had at the beginning was that room that is now the hallway. And I think they had a garden and did woodworking? That feeling of starting out with nothing and letting them expand their homes sounded so fun and rewarding. And I remember being like "ok, so now I have to have a BACC I guess." 😂 Ofcourse filming at the same time as playing slows down progress so much! But it's worth it since I really enjoy sharing the episodes here. Another idea I had for the scavenging lots would be to let someone else fill them up with clutter. Or maybe let someone else build them entirely? But then again, I'm so much of a control freak and really specific about what items can and cannot be there, I wouldn't even know how to get that going. But maybe that's something that would work for you? But building them and filling them up beforehand definitely helps! I'm working on the second subhood right now and it will take us some time to get there. 😊 I do have designated trash folders, separately from better deco stuff. That also helps, I don't really get tempted to put the good stuff in. I did set up that idea of which lots have which basic supplies right at the beginning, before I started playing. So there's no room to cheat some more coffee in if they need that. Those restrictions really help. And for some reason this really helps: having a space in their family name prevents me from using the familyfunds cheat, which helps me to be more creative with stuff like losing the tent. It would be really fun to see what your run of the challenge would look like! But I can also definitely understand that now is already filled up with so many other things! ❤ One of my things on my to do list is to share the challenge on Tumblr. That will hopefully make it easier for other people to play this challenge too and make adjustments when wanted. But all my spare time has gone into making the videos in these last few weeks. Still one of the first things I'll do when I get the chance though.

@@StoriesNStrategy oh that's so lovely to hear that my Hansen Farm inspired the challenge!! Yeah that's the main farmhouse you were talking about, the one room that is now the entry foyer 😂 it's SO much fun to see the family expand and succeed! Honestly the main things holding me back from trying this challenge myself are 1) time, of course, yes, but hopefully I'll be back to recording content really soon if everything goes to plan with putting Aidan into childcare, and then 2) building the downloads folder 😂😂 I'd want to have all of the "wrecked" post apoc stuff and that would be a whole thing haha. If you have any good creator recommendations... Send them my way. And then YES that's such a great idea to have someone else decorate the scavenging lots?!! 🤯 Would again be tricky with downloads folders but like... Idk, that would be super fun. Really excited to see the challenge on Tumblr when you have time to do it. Can't wait for the next episode! ❤️

@@TeaAddict If I would have to name one creator right now, it would definitely be Aviolina and their Silent Hill stuff. (I took out the really bloody and creepy parts, because they freaked me out. 😅) But I'll see if I can make a good list with working links and add it on Tumblr. All the good stuff is really old and I really went down a rabbit hole when searching for this stuff. Will take some time to re-find those links again. Initially I also thought I was going to play this privately, so I didn't think about making notes about the stuff I found.

@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
Aw, thank you! ❤️ Yes, they do have to earn and craft everything!! haha It's a fun process honestly, but it can be a challenge, with only one of them can do something at a time, not all of them having the skills for it and sometimes the one sim that needs to do something is already exhausted and sleeping when you need them. But that was exactly what I wanted when I came up with the restrictions, because I wanted it to resemble some other games that have stuff like that. So I am really enjoying the challenge. I would also understand if that is not for everyone! 😅 Finally getting something they wanted or needed is so rewarding though! 😄 We'll look back on this first phase with nostalgia in no time, I think. 😁

That was such a good wedding 😅 one of those classic occasions where the unofficial after-party was way more fun for everyone than the event itself. Maybe the field was full of thistles or poison ivy or prickles and they hadnt realised, hahaha. Poor sims. At least John and Brandi had a nice time! Yaaaay settlement expansion is exciting! Still super keen to see them start to build some little houses and move out together, and really get the town going, but its cool to see their settlement expand too. That power mod is really cool too, what a great thing to have for a challenge like this one. Perfect!
@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
Oh I'm glad you liked it now it was finally there! 😂❤️ Exactly, I like how you worded that, the after-party being way more fun than the event itself! So classic! 😄 I hadn't looked at it like that before. And thistles or some kind of prickles in the field makes so much sense too! haha Everyone complaining and itching because they didn't watch close enough when they cleared the field. That's exactly what happened, I'm sure of it, I love that explanation. 😂😂 The next episode will be about getting the town going. We'll have a few cabins and there are some first town services too, all really basic and small, but I've started filming it and it's so cool to see the actual beginnings of a town on the map. 🥰 So excited for that part of the challenge! Oh, how I loved the wedding despite all the things that have gone wrong. I probably even enjoyed it more because of them 😂 And I very much relate to the issue with the SnM collections looking the same. When I downloaded them, I just had to replace each icon 'cause otherwise it's very hard to browse. Oh wow, the power box is awesome! I was looking at it too some time ago, and I didn't know it came with some extra objects like that. So fitting for an apocalyptic gameplay. And I don't remember if I have asked, but have you played Rimworld, by the way? Judging from what you shared about the games you like, you might enjoy that one a lot 😅
@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
Haha yeah, it was so chaotic! Really glad you enjoyed it. 😊 John and Brandi at least had their sweet moments, which was nice. 🥰 Yeah, they did a nice job with making the collection files and stuff, but you're also using all or almost all of them right? You sure made the smarter move replacing them right away. I'm such a procrastinator when it comes to organizing those things. I keep clicking through all of them to find what I want, or hoovering over them to see the name. Even in my other hood, I should really start making better collection files. I made 1: for the gardening stuff. And that's it, while I have a whole list of things I want in separate collection files. Oh yeah, the power box is awesome! The generator also works really cool, with fuel you have to pour into it and then it works for a certain amount of time. And it's loud! Annoying, but realistic and I love it. 😁 I have not played Rimworld (yet). It's been on my Steam wishlist for a while (together with a lot of others). I do absolutely love games like that, so thanks for that recommendation! 😊 And I usually get obsessed with new games for a few months before moving onto something else again. 😄 So I'm trying to not get into new games as long as I'm struggling to get my BACC videos out weekly. I want to really get through this first season without breaks again, because there's so much stuff I'm looking forward to actually see and share in the game, instead of having it only on paper! 😅

I liked the wedding, they live in this postapocalitic world, in that case it was all what was possible to do, the cornfields are a romantic spot. I wonder, will Brandi and John teleported in when you moved them out or is someone else taking over Brandis tasks? Does the couple have to look for themselves or do they still have the support of the big group and can they use all of the ressources? Probably thats why you build the community shed? Sorry, so many questions 😅
@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
Hi! Glad you liked their wedding and the choice for the cornfields! Yeah, exactly, this was all that was possible for them at this time. It did seem like the most romantic spot with that greenery and at least a bit of flowers in the background. 🥰 It would have felt weird to make it a big luxurious wedding, when they are still struggling to get their basic needs met. 😅 But it was sweet somehow, right? 🥰 I am planning on teleporting in some of the sims for some chores. I'm still debating if that will be on a regular schedule, or only when they need something. Will have to figure that out in their first round. But the ones moving out will also open up their shops and other community lots. So survivors that still live at the settlement can also go out to get stuff from those places. I'm hoping Christy will develop her cooking skills by preparing mash and vegetables, so she can take over the cooking for the settlement and the "better" food will be available from Brandi's cooking on a community lot. But we'll have to see if Christy will be ready for that and not burn the settlement down first. 😂 We were lucky with Brandi to begin with. It's statistically a really small chance to get so many cooking skills when you roll for them with this system. And basically with every survivor leaving to a house, another will have to take over that cooking, so I'm hoping there will be someone with cooking skills when we find the next new survivors! Fingers crossed. 😁 They will have shared resources through the storage barn, but the more enhanced objects will be "sold" or traded from the shops. So none of them will have to worry about food, water, or basic needs as long as the community as a whole is thriving. But it will depend on their contribution how much luxury they will have. So I guess it'll be a bit of both. But I'm not planning on bringing back the old economy, even though some of the (Fortune) survivors might disagree with that. 😉 No need to apologize, I love your questions! And thank you for engaging, it makes it even more fun to do this for me too! ❤️

The Lamare mod with the electric box and power box 🤯 I love it! Reminds me of when I travel back home and the light goes out 😂 All of this crafting and living off the land is SUPER creative & inspiring! I kind of want to make a subsaharan African world (my background is Ghana, West Africa!) and incorporate lots of crafting and rural living in a small village. So these videos get my creative juices flowing! I am working backwards as I catch up, but I just had to click on this video because the wedding was so exciting!

Hi! Oh, I'm so glad you had fun watching it. ❤️ Haha yeah, omg the stink fumes! It was so chaotic and somehow so fitting for how their life has been in this place, that I thought to myself "yeah, what else did you expect?" 😂 I did think it was sweet that John and Brandi seemed determined to keep their attention on each other and not on the chaos, so after everything they made the sweet moments happen all by themselves, which made them even sweeter. 🥰 Oh yeah, the lamare mod is awesome, it has all these scenarios of power outages and stuff. And then the setting to completely switch electricity off is so perfect for a world like this. I'm in love with that power bike, it's so funny. And I tested the generator, where they can actually pour fuel into it and then it works for a certain amount of time. It's loud though! But really cool. I do wonder if it was too dark to see well in the settlement, so I might have to think of something to change that or film smaller parts when there's no daylight. Not really sure yet. Because they did have candles, but now the game sees those as "lights" too. Yeah, I remember you mentioning the subsaharan idea! I would absolutely love to see that. It makes me really happy that you can use this as inspiration! Can't wait to see what you come up with, I'm sure it'll be really cool. ❤️

For some reason, Melissa strikes me as one of those apocalypse preppers, who develop all the necessary skills beforehand and thrive after the apocalypse actually strikes 😅Seeing the footage of the other settlement was so cool, absolutely adore these little cutscenes in between the gameplay. Ivy is so badass 💪😒 Ahah, at 55:24 I said "is that a wolf" out loud just a moment before you, so weird 😂

Oh, I can totally see that yes, Melissa being a prepper! 😂😍 I can't unsee that now that you've mentioned it. 😄

What a fun episode, absolutely love the little machinima bits you put as cutscenes. And I mix up the numbers all the time too, it's so hard to do calculation on the go while narrating 😅
@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
Thank you! ❤️ I'm really new to the whole machinima thing and I feel there's so much to learn and improve on. But they are so much fun to make! And I always love it when others add scenes like these to their videos. Your die, die, my Donnie was a true masterpiece. 😍 Oh, the counting and talking at the same time! 😂 I literally facepalmed when editing. Glad I'm not the only one! 😄

I'm sorry for not commenting on these before, I've just silently been enjoying having them on. Thank you for sharing these videos - you inspired me to start playing too ❤

Oh wow, really? That's so cool! ❤ I honestly really didn't expect that! I hope you have fun then. 😊 I saw recently that they completely changed how they introduce and guide you through the first phases of learning the game and the heroes and stuff, with more achievements and progress bars and such. It's supposed to be much better and more fun now than it was in the early beginning of the game. I hope you let me know how you're finding it. 😊 Oh... and good luck! 😃

@@StoriesNStrategy It's been really fun so far. If they have changed stuff around for new players, it really shows, because learning the ropes has been very organic and intuitive so far. I've been playing the mage and it's been really fun figuring out what cards to put in the deck, troubleshooting as I go losing some games and winning others. Me and my bf have a valentines play date today actually 🥰 He's totally going to kick my ass but it'll be a lot of fun 😂 Are you always playing with the rogue or do you have any favorite classes?
@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
@@AniBats Oh cool! Yeah, the troubleshooting, changing cards... it's so satisfying when you win with some changes you came up with, isn't it? I've tried all classes at one point. My first love was really the hunter, Rexxar, with all the cool beasts and honestly, because whenever I play a game and there's a bow, I want a bow. 😄🤓 I had a female avatar for the hunter in the videos. The hunter is generally pretty weak when you get stronger opponents. So my other two favorites were druid and warlock. Paladin, shaman and control warrior somewhere in the middle. And least favorite I think priest. And hardest to win Mage and Rogue. 😄 DK and DH didn't exist back then, so I don't really have an opinion on those yet. Aw, that sounds like a cool valentine's day. 😊 Have fun!

@@StoriesNStrategy Ah right, now that you mention it I do recall you saying you were playing hunter, but for some reason my brain went immediately to rogue because of the avatar 😂Rookie mistake. I got a little hesitant playing it because it seems to be very offensive compared to the mage for example, which appears more defensive (at least the way my control freak self is playing it lol). But knowing that's what you're playing in the videos it makes me far more interested in it❤

@@AniBats Haha yeah, the aggro part is why I love it so much. 😁 It's a bit of an all or nothing gamble each time. You might also like the druid then. It has some nice options to play a more control based playstyle. 😊

Oh, the fire, heheh. Classic 😅 Loved seeing Eli again, and the minigame for interacting with him is so cool. However, the Rimworld-playing part of me wondered at some point "why not just smack him in the head and take everything, including him as prisoner?" 😂But I guess sims are a less harsh when it comes to that, it's better to have it as PG13. And you probably don't want to have that wildcard in the settlement
@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I should have known. 😅 Hahaha yeah, I guess there's that option too. 😂😂 You're right, these survivors are just probably way too kind for that. 😉 And yes, I love to stay on the feel good vibes side with my sims series. I'll smack stuff in the head in other games. 😁

This is awesome! Is this town and content still available for download and if so, where?
@StoriesNStrategy10 ай бұрын
Hi! Thank you! ❤️ The hood and lots are not going to be available for download, because of the amount of cc that was used in it. They are solely here for inspiration and for the BACC series. But if you see any cc in the video that you like, I'd be happy to check where I found it, so you can download it.
