I still play the Sims 2 in 2023! I myself didn't think that I would be still playing this game at my age and where I am in life, but I always come back to it and since I have been watching other Simer like Pleasant Sims, Ani Bat, Tea Addict and yourself, I play or plan for my sims every day for almost every day for the the past 2 years. I have my own custom neighbourhood that I started back in 2006 and have been enjoying making it more intergreted as I play and I used the game to reset my brain before the next day. Thank you very much for sharing. :)

That's a really old one too, how cool! Just out of curiosity, have you ever started other n-hoods and came back to that one? Or just always incorporated all new ideas in that first custom n-hood? I play the sims 2 in 2023! Thanks to channels like pleasant sims and tea addict and anibats and belladovah and acottonsock, not only do I know how to make the game work, but I’ve also gotten so many fun gameplay ideas I’ve never would’ve come up with myself. And please, don’t think you’d be boring us, we’d love to see the spreadsheet!!! (seriously!)

Oh wow, thanks! You're actually one of those creators where I feel I can never achieve that level of building skill when I watch your videos. I've learned to not let that hold me back though. 😁😉 And I know that would never be your intention either. Still a bit surreal to hear you say you like my build, so thank you. 🥰 I feel I should clarify that the warehouse isn't my creation though. It's Zarathustra's and linked in the description. Everything in the industrial district is downloaded to save me at least some time on a style I am not familiar with. The rest I will absolutely continue building in the same style as the police station and the grocery store. I'm totally with you on the never going to stop playing this game. Technology willing. 😄

And it's so cool seeing you in this comment section! 😄 Hope you enjoyed the video! 🥰 It really was sort of a challenge to play this house with 4 kids (and 2 cats) in it, but I loved it so much that I just really wanted to use it. And with a little bit (a lot 😂) of micromanaging, it worked and was really fun to play. The only routing issue sometimes was the kid's bathroom, or getting homework help. So 2 of the kids showered and did their homework in the morning and the other 2 in the evening. It also helped that the oldest one was already a teen when they moved in, hardly ever did his homework anyway and was kind of a party animal. So he came in late and slept in most mornings. But it's totally doable and fun! 😊

@@StoriesNStrategy that works perfectly! I'm hoping to maybe sacrifice one ground floor bathroom for a staircase to make a second floor, with a couple bedrooms and another bathroom up there. Maybe I can keep a powder room downstairs too just to have an extra toilet. My family who lives there will probably end up with 4 kids when all is said and done too!

@@88kayleigh Oh, that sounds really nice too. And it would make sense if they walked from the kitchen/living room area into the hallway that there would be stairs there. I might have to do something to the house too, because I don't want the grandparents to move out. But with the new babies, they are going to need a third bedroom soon if they keep living there with their kids and grandkids. I was thinking about maybe expanding the lot and building the grandparents a small cottage/shed sort of thing in the backyard or next to the house. We'll see, haven't figured it out yet. 😊

I haven't stopped playing Sims since I started back in 2000. Love playing it, love watching it. Definitely will be playing it as long as I can. BTW - SPREADSHEETS!!! I love spreadsheets. Will always like to hear how other people do their spreadsheets!

Still playing in 2023. Best sims game imo. I love the way you play university it is very interesting. I myself find spreadsheets and how different simmers use them very interesting and would love to see your spreadsheets and how you keep track of things!

The way you play the university amazed me, as well as other things, you had me completely immersed in the video and I, personally, would really enjoy a deep dive into those "boring" things like spreadsheets and the economy and in specific topics like how you run certain businesses ☺️

Haha! I will certainly consider it. I was planning on doing shorter updates when I build a new business or community lot, so there doesn't have to be so much time between videos. Will definitely try to incorporate the finance aspect of the build in those then!

This video is so inspirational! I'm totally stealing the idea about having students attend hobbies dorms. Hobbies are a big part of my gameplay and having hobbies dorms will force me to enjoy university. You have also confirmed to me that my past fast-paced game play was doing more harm that good. I have slowed things down (using Romantic Standards helps alot) and is actually getting to know my sims, instead of them just being another number to add to my spreadsheet. Thanks very much for sharing your gameplay rules. I might have miss it, but what's the reason for wanting to downsize the amount of sims in Simsville?

I love that you can use that idea for your own gameplay! It really makes universities so much more fun. I think it's still one of my favorite expansion packs and it's such a shame that the gameplay became so repetitive so quickly. I feel adding more variety to it in any way gives it the love it deserves. ❤️ I can relate to the fast paced gameplay. I did that with some dormie families that I used to create children that my sims could marry and I lose touch with why I love the game so much. Or I try to go through their lives a little faster, because they don't play a big role in the community... and then I get stuck on deciding if they would eat cereal or pancakes for breakfast. 😂 So I always end up spending more time in those households than I originally planned, but I can't seem to help myself. Getting to know these pixel people satisfies my neverending want to analyse stuff, I guess. 😄 There really is something relaxing, calming and cozy about sitting down and entering the sims' world and enjoying the slower paced vibes of spending a few days in their house. ❤️ The reason for wanting to downsize the amount of sims is mainly because I played without the no regen mods for years (and even took it out by accident last year for a month or so). So there are a lot of sims that visit community lots, where I prefer them not being there. I don't think it's the number of character files (between 1500-1600), but the number of relationships is what scares me a bit. It's all data that needs to be processed and loaded when playing and I don't want to add to that. I plan on playing this neighbourhood for hopefully a long time to come, which means there will be a 5th and a 6th generation over time. If I don't plan on bringing the number of households down now, it will get out of hand later on. So there are some 1 child households that will stop being their own household when the child marries into another family. But it's really both the number of households and the number of walking sims that I'm bringing down. So if extra cashiers, dormies, downtownies etc. are not alive, they can't form new relationships and I can at least keep the exponential growth of those relationships to a minimum, was my reasoning. So in short, the game works perfectly fine with these numbers and I'm not scared about there being too many sims. Just taking precautions so I can enjoy this neighbourhood as long as possible. And restricting myself, because before you know it I give these extra cashiers a make-over, start to find them interesting and add them to my playables. 🤦‍♀️

Every time I built or bought a new computer, it was always for the sims2, other games were fine, but for the sims I wanted/needed more. 😄 I wish you so much fun with that. 😊

Yeah, I haven't heard about many variations either, mostly midnight or the standard 6pm. 4 am fits my playstyle perfectly, but it's really nice to know you can change it to any time that fits what you like in your game.

@@StoriesNStrategy 4 am fits me too...although there has been a bit of a learning curve. First toddlers got lectured for missing school🤣
