Squier DESPERATELY needs to move their stuff back to China, it was WAY BETTER. I honestly don’t like the new classic vibes.
@Paul-D19 сағат бұрын
I agree, the more recent ones ive tried... I realise the old ones were seriously better than I even say here lol.
@JeremyMcCant19 сағат бұрын
@ There was literally only ONE and I’ve played well over 100 of the new ones and only that one was made perfectly! That one sounded like a Chinese one, it had a nice heavy weight, was super easy to play and had a tone out of this world. I wish I had the money at the time to get it, but it’s all good.

Would a different Eastman model have a smaller / thinner neck? My hands are small and I don't do well with a big neck.
@Paul-DКүн бұрын
All the others are smaller then this one. The smallest being the T486
@novicenoodler2467Күн бұрын
Your dead right about this being the most important pedal (at least in my mind). The second example (slane castle intro) was the best though - because the other two are funnily enough songs where John actually doesn't (typically) use the DS-2 - but instead the big muff for the solos. But his use of the DS-2 dwarfs the muff for sure
@Paul-DКүн бұрын
Is it the big muff on its own usually though? I always found it to be way too dark and only ever useful if you stack it on the ds2 to shift the tone. But then its annoying turning them both off lol.

I am an acoustic guy that stables 15 guitars. Electric guys have pedals....we buy more guitars. In the acoustic world, some of the music you were playing, demanded one guitar over the other. There wasn't a better one...each had their place and purpose. I own everything from a folk/parlor, to a twelve fret at the heel, slot head, Southern Jumbo Body (I like different and this guitar is a monster) Do you "Need" 15 acoustics...no...and neither do I. They follow me home and have turned into the retirement home for the cheap and unwanted. I have 6 that are my main players. The 24" scale on the slot head is generally the volume killer on the parlor, but that and the slot head should make the strings easier to do bends. The Mahogany top is also going to have a natural compression versus the spruce top. Top wood really matters.

This is true i have definitely bought wayyyy to many pedals. Im actually embarrassed by how many ive had 🤣🤣

They compliment each other well. Of the two, the Eastman “J45” sounds like it finger picks better than the parlor strums. If picking only one, that would be my choice. Also, you seem to like Neil Young. Ohio wants to be played on a rosewood guitar. If you were to get a rosewood OM (000 body, long scale, light bracing), you would get a lot of dreadnaught bass/boom, but still have great articulation for finger style. And the Neil You g songs would all sound better. It would be your perfect third guitar. Source: I own a J-45, L00 and OM-21 :-)

@silviolutti15222 күн бұрын
These tests are not reliable. The test should be done on the same guitar. And you would still have a 90% reliability. Just screw a screw of the pick up a millimeter less and the sound changes. Anyway, beyond the test, the Tex-Mex have more of everything.
@bobdelair023 күн бұрын
You definately needed the Eastman imho. A parlor excells in fingerstyle... you can use a pick but it's like going shopping with you Ferrari...

Love these Eastman videos as they are such amazing single cuts. I tried a SB59. It was light, deep top carve and amazing fretwork. The neck profile was just the perfect amount of chunky. Electronics were whisper quiet. They really do put Gibson USA Standards to shame.
@Paul-D3 күн бұрын
they really do, Ive just come to realise over time that Gibson very deliberately do the best they can in the top custom shop models only.... which seems obvious to say I guess. You'll always get the odd standard thats amazing it's just a numbers game, but on average they are just cheapened versions of the custom shop guitars. Then you have Eastman and maybe some others that are doing custom shop quality for standard or less money..... It becomes upto the person to decide whether 4,5,6k plus is worth it for their dream Gibson then.... For me personally, if you can really afford it then going on the hunt for the dream Gibson custom shop is great. But I can't so im glad Eastman are around to give that experience for ALOT less.

Hi Paulie, just brought (today) an eastman E10-TC-SB (the other acoustic I have is an OM Eastman 3OMe). Whoop whoop. For me the tone in your video the Eastman is head and shoulders better. My query is that are OMs are better for picking (parlours also) and are dreadnoughts vetter for strumming? Is there a decent alrounder?
@SteveTong224 күн бұрын
Purchased my guitar from Peach guitars (big shout out!) had a fantastic service.
@Paul-D4 күн бұрын
Sweet congrats! I can definitely see a normal dreadnaught in my collection at some point. What you said is broadly true and how it is, the OM or grand auditorium is generally classed as the all rounder. I prefer the OM shape to a parlour though (another one im missing haha)

Interesting topic, I think sound comes second to comfort when you're just sat at home playing, I have three very different acoustics varying in price and sound and probably play them all the same amount of time,I don't really favour one over another. That Eastman sounds pretty epic though.

@standingbadger4 күн бұрын
Great comparison of the two Pauly. I got my E10D about the same time you got the E6SS. It's also strung with 12s. I've been using a heavier pick (1mm) than I think you're using and have been strumming the E10 pretty hard for practice - primarily an electric player too. I love the overtones and warmth from the E10D and the volume with a heavier pick is much more noticeable, as one might expect.But I did use a 0.73mm pick last night and the guitar sounded quite different - more akin to the guitar on Bowie's Andy Warhol. I think using different gauge picks is a very useful strategy for getting different tones from an acoustic. Don't think I'll be moving on the string gauge just yet though. Wishing you the best 2025!

I’ve got 8 Gibsons that I dearly love, but recently got an Eastman to see what the hype was about. I now have 5 (4 SB59’s and a T484) and hope to get number 6 soon, an SB55/v. They are absolutely great guitars. I will say, though, that the 2 new Gibson Studio models (the Studio and Studio Session) are amazingly good guitars as well (I got one of each and they were both spot on) so I think they are finally listening to their customers and getting their quality to where it should be. It’s a great time for guitarists for sure.

sweet! I recently got my Gibson SG and thats really good, but yeh the Eastmans are still king around here haha. I really want the new black t59v..... but the prices are creeping up a little too much.... thats a future discussion im sure lol.

Fat 50s all the way I have heard them many times, where they really win is when you go high up the neck they still have the same thickness of sound they don't sound weak same across the fretboard

Two good sets of pickups. But from the comparisons I prefer the Lollars. What I great pickup set.
@Paul-D6 күн бұрын
I get it, the custom buckers are very cool but there bright and have a very telecaster on steroids vibe, to use a cliche but its true. The lollars are a similar flavour but are just slightly better tuned somehow, so I totally can see why someone would prefer those especially long term to actually live with.
@fredepstein6 күн бұрын
@ it looks a bit more refined and rounded. The Custombuckers seem a little bit more aggressive…not in a bad way…good for a crunchy rock, but I would say less flexible depending on the style of music you are playing.

@Paul-D9 күн бұрын
pickups make ALOT more difference then the neck woods, but here with these 2 pickups being so similar its definitely having more of an impact then on other comparisons ive done. But on an electric guitar, pickups, electrics and set up make far more difference then the wood types. Thats not the same as saying wood makes no difference.

Pauly, if you had to choose between the T486 and the SB59, which would it be? I know they are both great (I have an Eastman acoustic/electric), but between these two electrics, which would you choose if you had to? Thanks!
@Paul-D11 күн бұрын
This is something I ask myself regularly - like weekly lol. Of alllllll the guitars I've had since I've come to realise my favourite is either a 'LP' or '335'. So ive got that far..... But I would say the T486 would JUST about take it for me, It does everything the 'LP' does and can do but with just a little something extra... probably the semi hollow nature adds more musicality somehow. So that is my answer - but it's really close. Id take either over ANY other kind of guitar.
