I really enjoyed this testimony! I was born and raised Lutheran and attended Liberty as well (I think Jaqueline started the semester I graduated). I found myself having to defend even my protestant faith quite frequently at Liberty, like being told my infant baptism didn't count and I wasn't saved if I hadn't "prayed the prayer". I definitely noticed anti-catholic tones at the school, and I would defend Catholics as other siblings in Christ because my boyfriend from high school was a lapsed Catholic. He and I got married after college, and during the pandemic he was searching for truth, and reverted to Catholicism. I went through quite the journey of having to un-learn everything I thought I knew about the Catholic Church. I had so many misconceptions, and eventually one by one they all fell down. Long story short I was confirmed and received into the Church this past Easter Vigil! All praise be to God!

Jesus also went to the cross to give His people the gift of the Holy Spirit, so that His people would not be left as orphans. It was during Pentecost when the Holy Spirit birthed the first church in Jerusalem, and all were filled with the Holy Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit who led the early church to do great exploits for the Kingdom of God. Jesus did not leave us a church, for His people are the church (ecclesia, the called out ones). Yet, as far as what I detected from the video, not once was the Holy Spirit even mentioned. God did not send forth the Holy Spirit for His people to be led by an earthly church, but to be led by the indwelling power of God's Spirit. "Those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God."

I appreciate that you took the time to watch this video-that is more than some commenters can say! While I appreciate you listening to Jacqueline's story, I think it's a little unfair to subject this video to this sort of litmus test. Jacqueline spoke very clearly of beginning a personal relationship with Christ and wanting to go deeper, and she mentioned several times the various ways in which she experienced God's grace. If you were to ask Jacqueline if she sensed the Holy Spirit moving in her life, I am sure she would say yes and share several examples, even if she did not explicitly mention it in our conversation. You may ask why she didn't mention the Holy Spirit if that is the case, but as someone who has given several interviews in addition to hosting many interviews, I want to mention two things to remember: firstly, 45 minutes is not a long time to tell a story like this, and secondly, it is very normal to simply forget to mention an important facet of a story when you are sharing it, even if you had intended to share it. Ironically, it is the Holy Spirit that guides these discussions, even if the words "Holy Spirit" don't come up in the conversation. I hope this answer is helpful! Thanks for watching. God bless you.

@FiledUnderFaith I appreciate that you took the time to reply to my comment. I made it a point to comment, because I have come across other Roman Catholic videos that had done similarly. There was one in particular from 'Catholic Answers,' which was a talk about Mary. The Holy Spirit was not mentioned once. It became obvious that another entity had become a substitute for the third person of the triune Godhead. Mary is not included in the Godhead. In another video, the Church was a substitute for the person who had been giving their testimony. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is ALL Jesus gave His people to be led by. He is the One who helps, comforts, guides, corrects, supports, searches, speaks to, fortifies, loves, and intercedes for.

To know Jesus is to be Catholic. To be Christian is to be Catholic. Jesus Christ founded and maintains His Catholic Church. Everything in the Catholic Church points to Jesus Christ. not possible: to know God -- 1 John 2:3 -- is to keep all Ten Commandments. to be Christian is to imitate, obey, love Christ -- John 14:15 to be His church, it would have to uphold Truth -- 1 Tim 3:15 His Commandments include Ex 20:8-11, which is about the 7th day Sabbath, showing the 1st day is simply a 'work day' and the 7th day will forever be the Lord's day in Christianity. His Truth = His Ten Commandments -- Psalm 119:142, 151 -- so again, Exodus 20:8-11 (among others) prove this isn't His church. it's not possible.

Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in regard to food or drink or in respect to festival, or a new moon or a Sabbath day-things which are a mere shadow of what is to come, but the substance belongs to Christ (Col. 2:16-17). When Paul tried to evangelised the Jew, he comes to the Synagogue on the Sabbath day (Acts 13:14-44, 16:13, 18:4). But when Paul break the bread in Christian place, he did it on the first day (Acts 20:7; Luke 24, 1 Cor. 16:2) and daily on Acts 2:46: And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts.

There is faith in Christ and following Him, and then there is following a 'religion'.
@FiledUnderFaith
@FiledUnderFaith 9 күн бұрын
Following Jesus Christ is not a private, abstract matter where we can each decide for ourselves how it suits us to worship Him. In essence, that was the sin of Cain. Jesus left us his Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, as the pillar and foundation of truth. Scripture and the Early Church make this clear, if we are willing to see it. I would highly suggest checking out Four Witnesses, the book that Jacqueline mentioned.

One is GL and one is Pentecostal. After all I understand that Pastors of otzer denominations brain wash tze people and make plenty money including my parents. Only the Church that was established by Christ thriugh Peter is the original church, which people call Catholic since 107 CE. And all other churches came to existence after 1517 including GL.

@@bubaganush8954Give you a Break from what exactly?? This some of that history!!?? In the reign of Edward III. the church of England was extremely corrupted with errors and superstition; and the light of the gospel of Christ was greatly eclipsed and darkened with human inventions, burthensome ceremonies, and gross idolatry. The followers of Wickliffe, then called Lollards, were become extremely numerous, and the clergy were so vexed to see them increase whatever power or influence they might have to molest them in an underhand manner, they had no authority by law to put them to death. However, the clergy embraced the favourable opportunity, and prevailed upon the king to suffer a bill to be brought into parliament, by which all Lollards who remained obstinate, should be delivered over to the secular power, and burnt as heretics. This act was the first in Britain for the burning of people for their religious sentiments; it passed in the year 1401, and was soon after put into execution. The first person who suffered in consequence of this cruel act was William Santree, or Sawtree, a priest, who was burnt to death in Smithfield. Soon after this, lord Cobham, in consequence of his attachment to the doctrines of Wickliffe, was accused of heresy, and being condemned to be hanged and burnt, was accordingly executed in Loncoln's-Inn Fields, A. D. 1419. The next man who suffered under this bloody statute was Thomas Bradley, a tailor, and a layman; and a letter having been tendered him, which he refused, he was declared an obstinate heretic, and tied to the stake in Smithfield; where he was burnt alive, rejoicing in the Lord his God. The next person we read of who was tried upon this abominable statute, was William Thorpe, a man of some knowledge, who adhered to all the doctrines taught by Wickliffe. He was brought many times before archbishop Arundel, and at last committed a close prisoner, where he died, but in what manner cannot now be ascertained. About this time 36 persons, denominated Lollards, suffered death in St. Giles', for no other reason than professing their attachment to the doctrines of Wickliffe. They were hung on gibbets, and fagots being placed under them, as soon as they were suspended, fire was set to them, so that they were burnt while hanging. Only one of their names has been transmitted to us, which is that of Sir Roger Archer[188] whom they distinguished from the rest by stripping him stark naked, and executing him in that indecent manner. Much about the same time one Richard Turning was burnt alive in Smithfield, and suffered with all that constancy, fortitude, and resignation, which have so much distinguished the primitive christians. In 1428, Abraham, a monk of Colchester, Milburn White, a priest and John Wade, a priest, were all three apprehended on a charge of heresy. Soon after, father Abraham suffered at Colchester, and with him John Whaddon; both of whom died in a constant adherence to the truth of the gospel. Milburn White and John Wade suffered also about the same time in London. In the year 1431, Richard Ilvedon, a wool-comber, and a citizen of London, was brought before the archbishop, and being declared an obstinate heretic, was burnt alive on Tower-hill, for no other reason than that he embraced and professed the doctrines of Wickliffe. In the year 1431, Thomas Bagley, a priest, who had a living near Malden, in Essex, was brought before the bishop of London, and being declared an obstinate heretic, was condemned and burnt alive in Smithfield.
