Glad to see this game get more attention, because it definitely is underrated, I hope more people discover this gem, it didn’t help that it released the same day as MGSV: the phantom pain. But it was one of my first Playstation 4 games and I still love it.

Gaming in general has been in steep decline for nearly 10 years. As much as I hate the thought of it, I'll likely play on mid-level PCs going forward... until our only option is to play crap like Fortnite via streaming. I've been gaming since the Atari, but with the way things are going, I think it's time to spend more time on worthwhile hobbies instead.

You wont ever hear from an executive that shareholders or corporate capitalism is to blame, but I feel like sarah bond is not a sociopath nor ill intentioned like many execs are and her non answer still left the breadcrumbs to anyone smart enough to put 2 and 2 together. Having said that, even under the constraints of corporate capitalism eternal pursuit of unsustainable growth, we can safely say that the guy who time and time again put xbox on dire situations is matt booty. People just dont realize this because many of them dont even know who matt booty is, since he's not a people's person and all the people you see in interviews are phil and sarah.

Funny enough there were more games released on the Xbox One than its predecessor the mighty Xbox 360. However the PS4 dwarfed both the Xbox One AND the Xbox 360 with its larger library of games. The majority of Xbone games were third party only with only a trickle of first party titles. The exact opposite of the PS4.

This is all why I’m now on PC recently, bought a pre-built gaming PC for starter and plan on upgrading it. I enjoy many games from across all platforms, but PC will always be the master platform since most games you are able to play on pc, whether it’s through steam, or an emulator, or another game site. It’s a great conversion to be on PC now.

I think they must be getting a lot of pressure from the higher-ups in Microsoft and their investors. Sarah Bond's interview was cringe but she didn't look comfortable or genuine about what she was saying. It also doesn't add up that she'd praise Tango Gameworks for their success in a tweet a few months ago, then suddenly shut them down.

Returned it got another...it RROD'd too. Returned it for good. Later bought a Xbox and tried to play Halo Reach. Midway through the campaign I came home from work console wouldnt play discs. Returned the console to Walmart. Got an email from Xbox like a week later saying there was a unintended error that caused some consoles to stop reading discs. Asked me to send the console back and have it repaired. Sent them a pic of the return receipt. Not bothered with this company since. Good riddance.

Unfortunately XBOX is under new management since the Activision acquisition and that is MICROSOFT GAMING. There is too much money invested into XBOX now and the suits want R.O.I., so I fear that things are only going to get worse from here on out from a gamer point of view. Focus is now going to be on cutting cost and on profitability, so all decisions going forward will be towards that end. XBOX as we knew and loved it is dead, sad to say....

Microsoft thought that they could transistion from a hardware-centric closed platform to a cloud-centric open one and we wouldn't notice. If they had kept all of that exclusive to the Xbox, people would have all the incentive to make it their go-to platform like the Xbox 360.

All I've seen is a lot of business ignorant knee jerk reactions from most of these "Xboxtubers". When you look at the numbers what with the overhead being higher than the profit margin necessary to sustain the viability of the studios, then duh. The rationale for shutting down non profitable development studios makes absolutely perfect sense. Honestly, I'm keen on seeing each individual studio's quarterly financial reports, then we can have some real objectivity on this matter. Running a business isn't a charity, but most of these guys can't grasp that. If you're not hitting the bottom line, you have to go. Another thing that comes to mind is how many of the hires on these establishments were DEI hires.

there is no reason to shut down Tango other than Xbox wants to leave console gaming. Every studio that ships a console game will be shut down, Ninja Theory is next. MS will focus on mobile games going forward. That is also why the PR spin has been "big beautiful AAA games aren't sustainable". That is not true. What is true is Xbox is no longer planning on making those titles.

Hifi Rush did very well in what metric. 7% of the 2 million gamers actually beat the game and it's biggest award was best audio design. Furthermore Zenimax operates as it's own company and it's likely they green lit these projects to simply pad their studios to look good for potential buyers. Microsoft still has over 40 studios under 3 publishers. I really think it's overblown

We're well past the point of diminishing returns, Sony and Microsoft will need to seriously wake the fuck up, because by the end of the day, their big speeches, acquisitions and bajillion dollar investments mean jack shit if they're not doing the one thing people go to them for: Release some actual games. I don't even care about AAA or ambition or huge budgets, make a good game, go for sustainability, because that pursuit for infinite growth is well on the way to collapse, and it won't be pretty when it happens.

Former Playstation fanboy and now primary pc player, anytime a 3rd party studio is bought by Microsoft or Sony that studio becomes a former shell of itself. Part of the reason gaming down as a whole. Sony is a bit better because they have a better infrastructure and culture. Activision eventually is going to fizzle away.
@bellissimo4520

Sony is a lot better in that particular regard (fostering a good relation and culture with their development studios). Not fanboying here, but their track record of AAA games output of consistently high quality speaks for itself. Sure they also may have a misfire here or there, and they have closed studios too, but compared to Microsoft/Xbox, it's night and day.
@The_Claymores
@The_Claymores Ай бұрын
Xbox and Playstation had drastically different acquisition approaches. Xbox chose to buy big publishers and try to figure out what to do with the studios afterwards. Meanwhile, Playstation partnered with dev teams to make an exclusive game, and if the game did well then they acquire the studio (Housemarque with Returnal, Insomniac with Spidey, Bluepoint with Demon's Souls, etc), but there are some questionable buys that didn't follow that approach like Bungie. So I'd say PS is significantly better because of their targeted approach that allows them to understand a studio before investing in them. Overall, I hope acquisitions stop for everyone. They need to chill and focus on what they already have.

Xbox started falling off even earlier than Kinect for me , the brands best years were 2001 - 2007 , even though at the time there were less 7th gen games those first 2 years of 360 were still my favorite because that's when 360 felt the most fresh and Impressive with graphical leaps and Innovation (and "Blades" was the best UI). Microsoft was aggressively pushing exclusives , trying to build brand new IP and had consistent notable releases , the Industry as a whole still had the last trace of that 6th gen spirit left.

I left this comment on another video and I'll leave it here. Its always sad to see a company get shut down, if only just because it slightly limits the hundreds of options we get for games released per year. That being said, I personally am not that bothered about any of this. When a company acquires another there is always layoffs. Microsoft acquired a whole ass other corporation with publishing and developing under the umbrella, what were people expecting? While some could argue there were some quality games released by Arkane and Tango, the sales didn't show that in the slightest and the hype around all the games was either cult classic or negative. Sure game pass probably played a role in that, but the fact still remains, it seems like people like the games, just not enough to actually pay for the game itself. I feel like, while not all, the majority of the people making the noise are the same people who always come out to virtue signal every time we hear about developer crunch or some random ass studio being shut down. They don't really care about it and rightfully so. Layoffs happen every day in the business world. There are people crunching in their own job working over time and working unpaid hours just to survive. No one cries for them, no one from Tango or Arkane tweets about how bad it is their customer had to save up to buy their game, etc. Its not that deep, honestly. A year from now, after Hellblade 2 releases and people don't actually pay for that game outside of Game Pass subscriptions, leading to Ninja Theory being shut down, after a few more games release or an Xbox refresh releases, people will have moved on and found something else to focus their attention on.

You won't catch me doing anything but defending crunch. I wish we would stop calling it that and call it for what it really is.
