Another very good tutorial. Thank you. What I would really like also, is a tutorial on dark tone skin or asian tone. These are often overlooked and are something that still form a challenge to me.

It is two heads however and probably more for characters than rank and file. Also as said, you can make less high lights to have a bit of a rougher transition, which would shorten the process.

Thanks for great videos. Quick question! What is your recommended method for connecting heads to the cork? Will you please collaborate a bit? Do you drill them and use pins? Do you glue them directly to the base with glue? If yes, what kind of glue? I am worried that I might damage the head during gluing and removing it from the handle. Thanks for your help in advance :)
@resourcefulminiatures3 күн бұрын
what you see in the video is me stiking the head with extra plastic from the sprue into a cork with a preexisting hole in it, no glue. Otherwise i drilñ and pin

Thanks for the informative video. May I ask, what brand of brushes are you using, particularly for such Jobs as faces etc? The one here kept a nice point the whole time.
@resourcefulminiatures4 күн бұрын
its a national brand from my country, "plantec" i do however use my n1 brushes for faces and similar detailed areas and n2 for everything else

Complimenti. Per me è un ottimo tutorial 👍

Bit confused. Whats the point of that super thick application if the first method works fine?
@resourcefulminiatures6 күн бұрын
super thick allows for more optios to remove paint or not, thin will just give you a pin wash. went inot this a bit more on my more recent oil wash masterclass

@pigeaterpig61718 күн бұрын
exciting technique, tempted to try it out on plaguemonks that I'm currently busy with. Just wondering, would there be much of a difference with using gw washes instead of oil paints?
@resourcefulminiatures8 күн бұрын
Painted a clan rat using this technique on Ep.1 if you want to chek it out, the big difference is that you wont be able to clean the wash, and the raised details will end up darker.
@pigeaterpig61714 күн бұрын
@@resourcefulminiatures already did and I think I'll try it out with washes first on a few models. Being able to cleanup any spot a bit with oils seems much more flexible though, definitely will give it a try if I won''t be satisfied with washes, thanks!

@resourcefulminiatures8 күн бұрын

So why did you decide to go for ink on the first armor rather than an oil, and why go for oil on the second over an ink?
@resourcefulminiatures13 күн бұрын
on the first i could have used whatever id liked, oils flow much better into recesses so they would have provided less staining in the flatter pannels, the ink gave me a easy one coat filter. On the second one, using oils i can preserve the same basetone due to cleaning, other options ould have darkened the flatter pannels unless i pin washes but that would be take extra work, still, one could use a normal wash and apply 2 rounds of sponging instead of the single one i did
@TheMichaellathrop13 күн бұрын
@@resourcefulminiatures Thank you, that is actually really useful information. One thing I've noticed with a lot of painting guides is that they do a great job of telling you the what and the how, but often leave out the why of any given decision which can make it harder to adapt the specific techniques to other projects.
