The difference in the rust pattern is caused by high carbon steel used for the cutting edge versus lower carbon steel for the shank. You can also see that the end of the shank was peeled over from hammering. High carbon would have chipped and broken away.

It's amazing that some people don't genuinely understand that the point of these videos is to make them as long as possible with as many varied noises as possible. Restoration is pretty much just a bonus.

That is now a totally useless tool. You might as well mount it on a nice piece of wood and put a plaque on it for a gift. 😊😢

This appears to be a Soviet copy of an American Ronson lighter. That is a Ronson design you restored.

Some of these restoration videos irritate me. For instance, hit that pick ax with a cupped wire wheel on an angle grinder, then through a Flap wheel on it, then hand sand for finer touch, be done a lot sooner....I do watch these for the ASMR before though, the tinkering sounds help me sleep haha

What is the advantage of the curve of the Khukuri? It sits strange in my hand, i used it only twice until now. But i like it, is a good chopping tool.

Your video quality is amazing! If you don't mind me asking, what camera do you use to film your restorations? I'm looking to improve my own setup and would really appreciate your advice.
