I had one when I was younger but it was the pick up version the best thing you can do to open up the power is put bike carbs on it I had 38mm 3 individual carbs you’ll need to weld up a intake manifold with balance bar there’s videos called car bike carb conversion i would also put lowering springs from a swift gti on the front and rear I couldn’t find any that would work but I put the springs in compressor and heated them up it worked for lowering it

I think its a good idea to put Never Seize on the plug threads; especially with aluminum heads.

During the late 1950s I was a mechanical engineering student stuck for transport. I came across a sorry looking 1938 BMW 328 coupe that started and ran OK. The dealer was glad to sell this LH drive Car for the sum of 175 pounds sterling and take my trashed Morris 10 in the deal. I believe it’s engine, a 2 liter 6, was poached for the Bristol 401. The BMW, smaller and lighter, was possibly faster. Fraser Nash produced the BMW 328 prior to WW2 but mine was made in Germany. The Bristol was a great car but well out of my range. I kept the BMW for many years: I wish I had kept it longer as the model now sells for a small fortune! Hindsight!

Security is bad when you cant start your own vehicle. Transponders have improved slightly i think. Maybe.

Capacitors and possibly some semiconductors might have faded. Or a bad connection. All baseless speculation though. Great content here, btw.👍 Oh could be a crank position sensor.

Hi there I have a ford ka 2005 model and it loses water over night but during the day it runs fine and water is fine. I checked for leaks but can't seem to find anything. There is no oil and water mixing the fan works. What could be the issue?

Done this with a 10 mm one, had to drill the hole bigger first to about 9mm then tapped threads. Removed the powersteering pump and reservoir to get the drill in there.

How can anyone do that to a Bristol? Start with perfection and end up with that! Why?

I wonder if there's a metric size that would fit in there, imperial tap isn't going to be hard to find. Thanks for the help.

As someone who just bought a street ka and am waiting for it to return from getting repaired, I'd suggest a citroen ax diesel for a cheap runaround, I had one about five years ago just to get to work and I could get around 62mpg from it. I even slid it off the road backwards one winter down a slope into a tree and fixed it with just a new tailgate for a hundred quid.

I tried to add LED lighting to my 2012 C70 and couldn't get them to work. They would illuminate while starting the car, then they would go oujt when the engine started - very weird!!!. I also went to an online dealer that sells the LED retro -fit kits for Volvos, but they didn't list anything for my car. Typical weird Volvo electrics I guess....

My Ford ka 1.3 litre engine capacity has been giving me issues. The radiator seems fine, I changed my head gasket and got a new thermostat housing. The fan is moving well. Could there be something i am overlooking?

The joy of Landies. Want to bleed the brakes on a 109? you could end up having to replace the entire braking system like I did. Want to weld the rear A frame on a 90? - need to replace tub floor, top hats, cross supports, suspension bushes, top link knuckle, both calipers, rear brake lines, axle case, spring mounts, spring, shocks, aux fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel line, wiring for fuel tank and pump. Oh, and more welding than you thought. Old Land Rovers are just massive, expensive problems on wheels. Don't buy one unless you're wealthy and enjoy throwing lots and lots of money at them.

Firstly I need to buy housing etc and a tool to get the hose clamps off with. Total novice but will try. I will let you know how I get on in a few days once I have all the parts. My ka is from 98. having problems with the ABS light. can't get my OBDII to figure what wheel sensors are bad. so was watching on stuff for ECU-ABS connection in order to see if there is a way to simply test the wiring manually with a mag-amp meter. you know instead of taking all the wheels of and go through all the speed sensors manually one by one.. can't beat laziness.. through it sometimes sparks ingenuity. watched a few vids on ECU component build up.. and you might be able to fix it.. specially if you are into electronics and/or computers. also a multimeter is your best friend, OBDII scanner your second best.

I changed plugs and wires, but the "misfire" CEL didn't go away on my '97 NA Miata until I put fuel system/injector cleaner in the gas tank. Patient cured.
