Jim Fox looks almost like Leon Russell here without his glasses.

High Society was the last film I saw at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. Loved it for Louis and the jazz.

That is not an Elvin Jones drum solo, the film makers butchered it, chopped it up, half of it is mixed with Earl Palmer faking Elvin badly.

Notice that tristan und isolde (prelude) reference in the middle section (1:25), Debussy is laughing at that wagnerian seriousness

this was the final skit of the flick and it routinely brought the audience to thunderous applause! Rare flick that got the audience completely involved.

It's a wonderful performance of the song but I wonder when Louis Armstrong first sang did anyone offer him a throat lozenge? We all readily accept this style of singing today but there must have been a time when people said, "Are you kidding? Come back when you get over your sore throat."

Great man- Louis Armstrong. How he lives his life is truly inspirational. I've so much admired and respected the man. A unique, powerful voice is widely known around the world. ❤ He'll always be remembered.

Groove tube was the inspiration for saturday night live. This was the first Schulers Reel shown on SNL . It was a quite tribute to the shows origins. So the next time you see this movie think of it as the very first SNL. And maby even the first Cheech and Chong movie . All rolled into one.

At 1:53 it shows Very Good Eddie following Leave It to Jane. The order is incorrect. Very Good Eddie was produced before Leave it to Jane. Eddie followed the moderately successful Nobody Home. Very Good, Eddie would become the rage of New York (Eddie was revised in the 1970's to good reviews. I saw it and loved it). Eddie was produced for a small theatre with a small cast. It's success would lead to Leave It to Jane with a larger cast and a larger theatre.

My grandmother lived until she was 92 and played piano every day until she died. She would play this song all the time - this brings back a million memories for me. This version is the best I've ever heard it played.
