But the fact that she could project such a light; such pureness of soul being revealed -whether it was or not... - is nothing short of amazing. We still have seen no one else do this since.....

It takes a sort of elegance and some deep humanity, plus 'confidence charisma', intelligence, 'style', and even.... seriousness, sexyness, or allure / cuteness. This is like the old 1950's cuteness. She's also a bit more on the front end of boldness and confidence, vs the innocent style of ultimate vulnerable cute / sexy (often found in Asia, Viet Nam Korea China JP etc, but more to grow in United States this sort of charm-personality).

even though the movie "somethings got to give" was never finished, I think it should be remembered as one of the top movies of all time. Think about it: Marilyn Monroe , stark naked , giggling and prancing around the poolside,while literally dozens of photographers were snapping photos as fast as they could replace their flash bulbs, doesn't that make you so proud to be an American you could just cry ?

As you probably already know, in one of the boxed sets of Monroe's movies, there is a dvd entitled THE FINAL DAYS. They pretty much put the available footage of SGTG together. But, I downloaded another version of the movie from YT. This footage was better than the boxed set of THE FINAL DAYS.

True MM was no Meryl Streep; Monroe had a different type of gift -- the gift of keeping us fascinated when she was in front of the camera, and the gift of creating such a unique, distinctive quality that she became unforgettable. Yes, she was superb in Niagra -- that scene where she sort of falls back on the bed with this rippling, almost musical laughter...
