Threads need to be reversed on one end so you can draw both pipes together at the same time. Terrible engineering on such a simple product. Nerd designed. Let me say this again. One end right handed thread with the other end left handed thread. Doh!

Great video. I'm no plumber and I've never soldered in my life. I'm very unhappy with the way that I soldered my copper fittings together, so I'm putting my pride aside and just going with pex. Yea me too right this minute looking up how to use these silly things. All they need to have is reverse threads on both sides and you could draw both pieces of pipe together without an issue but as it is these things are just about as hard to use as the grey ones. Get one side in and it levers itself back out when you attach the other side. It is incredibly hard with half inch pipe. 3/4 will just slide over any ol fitting. You can even make a coupling out of 1/2 inch iron pipe for 3/4" and it works fine.

Excellent video. Can you make a video explaining how to remove crimped metal PEX fitting and replacing all the fittings with poly without cutting the PEX on each side of the fitting. I am afraid if I cut the PEX as in this video that eventually the water lines will be too short Thanks in advance ( or refer me to another resource)

Just use a connector to extend the pipe. Don't reuse the PEX that was over a previous fitting.

Pex B is fake! PEX is a polyethylene material which has undergone a change in molecular structure using a chemical or a physical process whereby the polymer chains are chemically linked. Crosslinking of the polymer chains of polyethylene (HDPE) into PEX for pipes results in improved properties such as elevated temperature strength and performance, flexibility, chemical resistance, environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR), resistance to slow crack growth (SCG), toughness, and abrasion. Crosslinking makes PEX a "semi-thermoset" polymer, providing excellent long-term stability.

When I tighten the pipe elbow, it orients away from where I need it pointing. What can I use to get the threads tight and in the direction I need it pointing to?

Not impressed with the tool, but I do have a fix for it not opening- happened to me with the tool in he wall, and I had to cut the Sheetrock to get it out. If the release lever doesn’t work, look at the movable handle, above the plastic grip, where it enters the frame. There is a silver pawl there that engages a gear on the same shaft that the movable handle pivots on. If that pawl doesn’t release the gear blocks the jaw from opening. You can reach in between the frame and the handle from the side of the crimp tool and trip that pawl while turning the release lever.

So much more information is needed on these instructions. The C-Rings used to secure the bolts in place are very tight and will disappear easily, so you should do most of these adjustments inside of a box. The adjustments are just for impacting how much tension is used to create the crimp and are not for adjusting the length of the tools or for affecting the width of the tools maw. The adjustment bolt needs to be pinched on both sides with your fingers when pushing it out for adjustment or it will likely pop out of place and parts of the assembly may get lost. All crimp tools that I have used so far have additional functions to make the job easier than just "open and close like pliers", so make sure to look up the individual tools specs to see how all it can function.

junk, can't adjust for beans... jaws always completely close & crush the crimp. the adjustment screw is too short doesn't go far enough in to make contact with the toothed ratchet plate to enable an 'earlier' release before crushing the crimp & the small oval hole for the set screw (that locks the ratchet plate) barely has enough travel. the ratchet plate might as well be welded in place.... they couldn't figure out how to make a simple switch that automatically sets the correct needed crimp distance per crimp diameter...? btw, this vid is useless....

can you show how each fastner is the same but just looks different? wonder why pinch clamps are banned in many countries/jurisdictions? your sharbite removal tool is a scam. your manifold having plastic connection are prone to leak like all plastic threaded materials. the use of tape to prevent leaks is no even a thing, thats bad threads or bad joint, if your solving that by tape your just bandaiding the problem. thats also why you dont have plastic to plastic or plastic to metal thread connections.

which is why its useless is typical situations, threads seal the joint with help of lubricant. tape should not be relyed on to seal any joint, its a backup in bad situations. it also gets debree into systems because people over use it. it voids manufacture specs with some devices. refridge especially @@tehpurplepills

After finding absolutely no instructions with the tool on how to calibrate it (let alone, the need for calibration, other than there's a "calibration gauge" with it), I turned to your web site. Found the instructions easily enough, but after smashing one end of the rod to kingdom come (it was way too tight from the factory) after several attempts and getting zero results, suddenly the head of the adjustment screw fell off! It wasn't a screw I was adjusting, but a nut apparently used for locking the adjustment screw in place! WASTED AN HOUR TRYING TO FIGURE THIS STUPID THING OUT! All of your instructions and videos show no locking nut for that screw and I just figured you changed the type of screw you were using! You need to delete all of your videos and online instructions on how to adjust this stupid tool and update them!!! You might want to include that nut, and that it would be a good idea to use it to lock in the adjustment screw so it doesn't get lost over time. Maybe?!?!?!
