So much more information is needed on these instructions. The C-Rings used to secure the bolts in place are very tight and will disappear easily, so you should do most of these adjustments inside of a box. The adjustments are just for impacting how much tension is used to create the crimp and are not for adjusting the length of the tools or for affecting the width of the tools maw. The adjustment bolt needs to be pinched on both sides with your fingers when pushing it out for adjustment or it will likely pop out of place and parts of the assembly may get lost. All crimp tools that I have used so far have additional functions to make the job easier than just "open and close like pliers", so make sure to look up the individual tools specs to see how all it can function.

So ideally 1mm (.8-1.2); I didn't have the go/no-go tool so I was able to use feeler gauges; thank you very much!

Is the round guage suppose to compress and indent? You really need to elaborate a little more on this calibration. If I don't hear from you this thing is going back! Thanks.

Yes, the bar is supposed to be compressed when you calibrate the tool. There will be indentions on the bar when it's released.

The music annoys and distracts It appears that basically you are saying the crimp gap should be between 0.8 and 1.2 mm. I will use my calipers to verify. I measured the material thickness of the clamp ring... it was 0.9mm. How is this compatible with closing the jaws to 1.0 mm ? Two thicknesses of clamp material squeezed together is 1.8 mm. tag:777clamp

I just bought the cinch type that has the light, no tool came with it, and the store is out of stock, so returning it won't work for the time being. But what is troublesome, the instruction and this video show a different screw to turn to adjust! One of them has to be wrong.

I purchased the one hand tool and the 1.4 gauge slips in the jaws no matter how tight I adjust the screw. Should I return it?

The ABSOLUTE WORST TOOL I HAVE EVER BOUGHT IN MY LIFE. NO MATTER HOW I ADJUST THE SET SCREW OR THE PHILLIPS HEAD IT STILL CLAMPS ALL THE WAY DOWN. CRAP.

At first I had the same problem with the one hand ratcheting tool. I turned the screw as far as I could in both directions, but the 1.4 gauge still slipped in. Also, the video and the written instructions show different locations for the adjustment screw, and I'm not sure which is correct. However, I discovered that continuous pressure needs to be applied on the handles when checking the adjustment. The blue light should be on when checking.

on all tools, especially the one with set screws, should the tool be open or closed when adjusting? Does it matter?
@apolloretailonline

For the Crimp tools, you must open the handles for adjustment. For the clamp tools, the tool should be in a closed position for adjustment.

*Music oozic oozic** Wow. This video is really bad. Loud music and instructions in small text. Delete it and replace it with proper instructions before it hurts your image. Also, if my new tool was provided with instructions that told me how to use the provided calibration gauges, I wouldn't need a video in the first place. **Music oozic oozic**

I just purchased the 3/4 tool with the "nut" for adjusting. It over-crimps (based on the go-no-go gauge) at the "0" setting. I've tried backing it off one more space, but it seems to have no effect. Is this tool defective? Do I need to return it? It leaves heavy "mash" marks on the sides of the crimp-ring.

+alwaysmatterinmotion I apologize for the inconvenience. It does sound like the tool is defective. Please return it where you purchased it for a new tool. If the store can't replace your tool, please call our customer service dept. at 888-229-2874 and they will be able to assist you.

junk, can't adjust for beans... jaws always completely close & crush the crimp. the adjustment screw is too short doesn't go far enough in to make contact with the toothed ratchet plate to enable an 'earlier' release before crushing the crimp & the small oval hole for the set screw (that locks the ratchet plate) barely has enough travel. the ratchet plate might as well be welded in place.... they couldn't figure out how to make a simple switch that automatically sets the correct needed crimp distance per crimp diameter...? btw, this vid is useless....
