this sounds exactly like the one short story i made in my creative writing class in 7th grade that ended up being 16 pages long bc it was a never ending stream of consciousness i did at the last minute with no consistent plot

When I first found out that the publisher that Toole approached refused to publish the book because he didn't think it was good enough I thought, what kind of a moron wouldn't think this book is a work of comic genius? Well, you just answered that for me, pal. Every dumb thing you just said is probably exactly what that jackass publisher told Toole. Pat yourself on the back, you dope. Jeez

The tragedy of our society seems to be that the real problem is not necessarily the "right" or the "left" with their sometimes great ideas, but the sluggish masses in between, who see Netflix, delivery services and a bulging bank account at the expense of everyone else as their credo, while at the same time voting for conservative parties and secretly shagging anyone who hasn't run away by 3 due to the all too obvious mendacity. Good review of a book I already crave for reading.

Okay, so you're just reason something into existence (give it all the properties that help you), to reach your biased conclusion. Then you let go of all logic and then ignore and misinterpret the rest of the world who do think seriously about things.

New subscriber here! I purchased the book a while back, got 30 pages in and was scratching my head. It's contents are magnetic but uncomfortably intimate. It is unclear what is actually happening in the beginning and your videos on it have motivated me to keep reading it. This is great content besides, thank you!

Wait wait, Don Gately gets shot by a wheelchair assassin? Did we read the same book? I thought it was one of the Nuks who had beef with Randy Lenz while Gately was defending Lenz (wish he wouldn't have). Or did I miss something here.

I have NEVER commented on any KZbin video, but I thought your role as an IMMACULATE GRADER was hilarious... your tongue in cheek precision is laudable. I give you a 9.999/10 for a video well executed.

Really enjoyed this video! I’m an engineer by trade and an overall science/ scientific method enthusiast. I am curious about the presuppositional approach engaging with statistical distributions of data. Let me try to explain I anticipate that I’m going to get some blow back on this- but I want to use an example of how scientists or researchers engage with data. Specifically, I want to talk about statistical distributions of fossils found throughout the world and what those distributions mean- according to secular researchers. I’m trying to get to “How would a presuppositionalist engage with data as they are collected and what emergent picture of the world appears in these distributions as data are added? Okay here goes! Please bear with me- this topic might get a little heated. In the fossil record, there is a very clear distribution of fossil groupings the world over. Modern mammals (elephants, apes, horses, raccoons, humans….) are never, ever found intermixed with things like stegosauruses or trilobites. In fact! Tyrannosaurus Rex is never, ever found mixed in with Stegosauruses. Secular scientists, in fact, would say that Tyrannosaurus existed closer to the time of humans than to the time of Stegosauruses. I realize I’m drifting here- let me refocus and get to my point: Evidentialism is interested in things like the distribution of data. How does a Christian Presuppositionalist value data points as they are identified in the world? Would a presuppositionalist have any interest in the fact that human and modern mammal fossils never appear intermixed with many dinosaur fossils, making it seem (to an evidentialist) that humans lived millions of years (or some duration of time) away from when dinosaurs roamed the earth? Does this make sense? I’m really big into data and I’m trying to figure out how presuppositionalists engage with data and statistics.

I just love St. Maximus. I approached his theology when I was still an atheist, and something in his way to conceptualize Christianity struck a chord with me. Now I just can't see how you can understand anything in reality without Christ.

The growth is in terms of Ignatius's favorite book Boethius's Consolation of Philosophy, fortunes change constantly. The characters on top at the start, Mrs Leevy, the bar owner, the policeman's boss, end up at the bottom of Fortune's wheel while those at the bottom, Mr Leevy, Burma Jones, Mancuso, end up at the top. There is no sign of permanence to any of that because fortunes will change again.

As a new believer I attached myself to Calvinistic doctrine but now that I actually took the time to start memorizing and so far only memorized the book of James and Romans chapters 1-8. But already, It has been clearly so much more beneficial to memorize and actually know what the Bible says than to indoctrinate and parrot what other people say the Bible says.

hi, just to anyone watching this video: if you haven't read infinite jest, don't watch this video. it ruined my experience whit the book, because the part of the book that i most enjoy is the part in which you, the reader, need to connect different characters and situations to make sense of everything: this video did this for me for most of the plot lines and characters. every time that a new character was introduced, i already knew who was, what was gonna happen, there was no mystery for me. believe me, there is a plot, there are spoilers. this video could be good after reading the book, to see other person's interpretations, but for me, it totally ruined the experience, it left me no space to interpret the book. seriously, i'm really mad because at the intro this man says that he'd have wanted a video like this when starting to read the book, and i couldn't be more against that. this video will always be for me one of those things that you wish you never encountered.

I will start believing in DRACULA The Bible talking about ZOMBIES after the resurrection of Jesus. Repent. In Islam Jesus was not put on the cross but someone else that looked like him. Jesus asked God to take their cup from him.. he didn’t want to die. The Bible claims that Jesus was mad at God and said : why you have forsaken me ( which Muslims don’t believe a prophet of God can talk to God like that. God asked Abraham to slaughter his only son and Abraham didn’t complain nor Ishmael) so stop telling me that Jesus is a son of God literally, then he is uneducated. This proves that the stories about Jesus in the Bible are man made stories that contradict the real words of God. The Bible is mixed with words of men and is not 100% the words of God. Imagine the disciples believe in Jesus was God then they left God to die alone!!! , I know that followers of the prophets fought beside them and died for them. Read the Quran

I read Romans recently with some brothers and, unaware of this New Perspectives debate, simply noticed how Paul shifts his audience in the early chapters from the Gentiles to the Jews. The first couple chapters seem to say, “Okay you who reject the Mosaic Law, follow nature’s laws. You still fall short.” By the fourth chapter Paul has turned his focus to the Jewish believers among the church in Rome and his criticism is much sharper. That’s my “New Perspective.” I don’t need N.T. Wrong spewing his mush at me.
