UPDATED INFO: In later Model 3/Y (mine is 2022) seat latches no longer move sideways, but you simply push those and it releases seat. Locations of these latches are in same place. Also 2 wires are now located on same side (left) of the back seat. Thank you @AlexVenz for video that is on point showing how to remove the lower back seat.

Update this to discuss the model y, and also synchronize it with the Tesla service manual procedures.

Our '14 S85 ("Snow White") MCU1 began behaving erratically (Lock ups, random crashes) despite the EMMC recall upgrade, so we decided to bite the bullet and go MCU2. BIG improvement, much faster refreshes, Netflix, KZbin etc. But the net-based radio is pretty crap, lots of dropouts depending on weather and specific 'no signal' areas. No random glitches though so I do recommend MCU2. p.s. As it's a Keeper we have just had all the suspension arms and drop links replaced by an independent specialist in the UK at 110k miles. Souund investment in a brilliant car.

Two things. 1. My tesla does record the back and it also records every time someone walks close. 2. My key is on my phone, so every time I walk away the car locks and all windows automatically roll up. I have a 24 model y performance.

A Tesla charger station was just installed across the street. Every night since, when I lay down to sleep, with my ear to the pillow, there’s a low hum/buzz I can hear that lasts all night.

Very simple logic, why this thing is bad but people are OK with it. That why manufacture keeps making it because nobody complain about it.

This is why I'm using a local authorized installer here in St Louis. Tesla is not known for customer service. We are adding 2 maybe 3 PW2s to my Enphase PV system with IQ8A micro inverters which is why I'm not going with PW3s.

I started taking it apart. From the previous repair done in Rochester I found that the two drain hoses were not connected. The clip on the big hose side was broken. Also missing little push pins on the side pieces. Makes you wonder. Also I'm just wondering what water would go into that tray where the drain hoses are? In any case it looks like I can't change the 12v unless the frunk comes out. It's a Hankook 30Ah.

One other thing to consider would be if you had cabin over heat protection off. How much more energy would the car use to cool it down when it’s like 146 Fahrenheit inside vs the 90F

On my 2017 Honda CR-V, there is a mechanism that pulls up the rear seats before the lumbar collapses. It creates a flush space and is very convenient for interior cleaning.

While there are some Tesla owners who universally look down on anyone who owns something other than a Tesla (there’s a percentage of iPhone users who have this same mentality), it’s just a car to the majority of owners. Granted, it hasn’t helped that some of the other manufacturers have dumped a few deeply flawed EVs on the market over the past decade or so. That, however, is changing pretty rapidly.

Great video just got done using this trick to have a great camping experience. 👋🏻👋🏻 For all who are having issues lining the belts back up run your seatbelts through the holes while the bench is sitting in place wire up the connectors and use the seat belts to guide the latches back through the seat. Hope that helps!

My 2013 Model S does not have that release lever. I found out the hard way yesterday at a supercharger near my home. The charge cable would not come out after I tried unlatching once the charging was completed. After trying to unlatch it from behind, not finding the release lever, on the phone with Tesla roadside support for over 45 minutes, two reboots, which also could not fix the problem, I was ready to give up. Then I tried pushing the supercharger charging cab,e down a bit in the charge port, and it suddenly unlatched! I will get my charge port replaced. I think they changed the design on the newer ones.

It has been a while since I’ve taken one of these frunks apart, but I think you can replace the 12V battery without completely removing the tub. You can clearly see the battery and its hold-down bracket as soon as I remove the cabin air duct.

Using what you have is the first consideration, if you have a one low profile jack and puck you can cut up 2'' by 10'' boards-16 inches long and stack under tires on each side to get the front end up to crawl under it. Be sure to use wheel chocks on the rear tires. Do not do this in tow mode. Works great for installing Model 3 front skid plate.

Pro tip for burgeoning mechanics, just get a quickjack. Those are wall hangable and take up a very small footprint. They do cost more but are SO MUCH more versatile and easy to use. They're also more foolproof and thus safer to use. I don't like how RennStands don't have opposing pairs of legs connected. That makes each welded top corner a single point of failure. To me, spending >$600 on a set of jack stands is insane. For about double the price, you have a portable lift at home with the quickjack. Infinitely more useful, IMO.

If you drive every day and exercise the 12 volt battery you can easily get 5 years out of it. If you leave it for a week or more you can run into problems. So if possible let someone drive it while you are away.
