Congratulations on your Lynx, I just got a Rodger Charger for mine in the mail today. It is cool, because you can charge super slow to put less stress on the battery, or chatge super fast, when you need to get going in a hurry. The charger also works for my Veteran Patton.
@Riceman-o1p9 ай бұрын
@@charleskieser9740 i've been in the battery industry for 25 years now so this wheel is really fun. They had to have sorted these batteries as when my wheel reaches full state of charge the variance is no more than 14/1000 of a volt and the highest temperature I have seen is a mere 78°F. That's just plain awesome to me. I've been charging up to 95% and then I stop. I only charge to 100% before I go for a ride. Some people say that the 50 S battery has a shorter cycle life but they are not looking at the cycling conditions at which the battery is tested. We will not come even close to those types of charge and discharge conditions. Especially us "older guys" 😂
@charleskieser97409 ай бұрын
@@Riceman-o1p I like to wait and charge up before I go to save the battery. I never like to leave the wheel fully charged or completely empty. I just got a new Rodger Charger, and it has a selectable charge rate, so I can charge at just 1 amp when I am not in a hurry. I like to plan my rides for when the wheel is done slow charging. The charger also will do 10amps for when I am in a hurry, which is not very often.

I have a Patton as well as my first wheel. Was the Lynx worth the upgrade in your opinion?
@charleskieser974010 ай бұрын
The Patton is a great wheel, and I love it. The Lynx 70Lb progressive spring feels less plush but more responsive than the Pattons 66Lb spring. I like the way the Lynx takes bumps and pot holes better than the Patton. The acceleration out of the hole feels better on the Patton, accelerating from 20mph feels better on tje Lynx.
@anthonychiang92629 ай бұрын
I also got the tubeless tire and riding over bumps felt super rough. Not sure whether it’s because of the tire pressure or because I haven’t tuned the suspension. Do you face similar issue?
@charleskieser97409 ай бұрын
The bumps feel firmer than on my Patton, but it feels more responsive and more stable to me. I am heavy 200+ pounds, and I ride with a lot of gear including Chooch's trail tool set. I took the Lynx off road yesterday and rode it over some rocks and pretty big roots, and suspension wise it felt good. The street tire did slip out in some mud, and I went down. I think the knobby on my Patton would have kept me up in the same situation.
@Mpower319 ай бұрын
Do you think it's the tire more then the suspension? I've heard the progressive springs are stiffer then the Patton and SS. What suspension LB did you get and what's your weight?
@charleskieser97409 ай бұрын
@@Mpower31 I am 210lbs or 95kg and I bought the 70lb springs. The Patton was a bit softer before it bottomed out, but the rebound was never as nice as the Lynx. The Lynx suspension just feels quicker and more responsive. I have hit bumps that used to throw me around on the Patton, that are smooth on the Lynx. I think the quicker rebound on the Lynx also makes it easier to time preloading the spring to leap over bumps.

No, the Lynx is feeling really smooth to me, but I am a heavier rider.

The street tire is tubless, I guess they sent a tube just in case you want to run a tube inside a tubless tire, which is a thing in the dirt bike community.

I didn't quite catch it, what was your reason for upgrading? Not that you have to justify yourself 😂, just curious. Also, those look like the same power pads I use, except you seem to have the bottom one built in to your euc. That's pretty cool, because imo, that is the most useful of the pads. It would be nice to know that it would never come off or shift. Mine has not really been any issue, other than I have had to readjust that lowest pad a couple times as it does shift slightly up if I do a lot of jumps and stairs and stuff. Not a big deal, but I can see why someone thought to just build that pad in so you know you can count on it, and leave the other upper pads completely to the owners discretion to customize.

My Patton is my only wheel, and I was wanting to have a backup. Also the Patton is a 16 inch wheel, and I thought it would be fun to see the differences in riding a 20 inch wheel. I wish the built in toe grips were a little bit wider. There are slip on covers to make the toe grips a bit bigger, and I think I am going to get one. I dropped some stairs on the new Lynx 20 inch wheel today, and I did notice that it was smoother than my 16 inch Patton wheel is on the stairs. Mr Wrongway rode the Lynx wheel in the skate park, and I rewatched that video, and I think he took the Kick stand off the wheel for his ride in the skate park.
