Hello! I’m new to your channel and I’m so excited to have *found* you! Your projects all look wonderful, especially your spinning. I loved seeing your spindles and your wheel spun (I have a Lendrum too!). I haven’t spun for a while but see in your Turkish spindles and finished yarn makes me want to get mine out of hibernation! Can’t wait to slowly dive into your previous episodes! Warmly, Fran

I would love to see a demo of you spinning on a turkish spindle as a stand-alone video!! also- northwest yarns mercantile is actually my local yarn store, and I bought a turkish spindle from them at Flock Fiber festival. I have yet to figure out how to use it though..

You looked familiar in the intro and I realized I asked you where the fleece barn is as soon as I walked into the festival and clocked your fleece bag. Happy you found a great one. Side question - where is your sweatshirt from? Super cute!
@madisonmonteze5 күн бұрын
omg yes!!! Did you find a fleece?! I found my sweatshirt at an online vintage shop called Mothfood. ☺️
@nataliez.75065 күн бұрын
I did find a gorgeous grey Shetland… but tragically it had lice when I was checking it. They were still live, so the whole fleece was confiscated as were the other fleeces from that farm 😭 incredibly sad - it was the only grey fleece left by the time I got there - but a solid learning experience nonetheless!

I just love your podcast Madison. I am going to Rhinebeck for the first time this year and so looking forward! Not going crazy with making something cause made the Kerti by Orlane Sucche a few months back so will prob just wear that. I absolutely love the colors of the Festive Doodle you are knitting! Was never drawn to that pattern till I saw yours. Funny how beautiful color combo’s make you fall in love with a pattern you may have otherwise not have been inspired by. I also now want to knit that brioche scarf you made. I have never knit brioche, so thank you for your rec. Also have never really gotten into sock knitting but need to try the fish kiss and or the shadow wrap heel. Ps I too live in NY and looove the Brooklyn General store :))

Mondim is one of my favorite yarns, lovely colors, pleasant to my skin, in garments it's durable too, but I never dare to use it for socks, bc I heard a lot of stories about it getting worn out pretty easily. Fiber tales Lærke had a hole on her mondim socks after the first wear, as she mentioned in one of her earlier podcast episodes if I remember correctly. A guy who also podcasted about knitting a while ago (I can't recall his name atm) also mentioned holes immediately in his mondim socks. Maybe extremely tight gauge or holding an extra strand of mohair with it helps and it also depends on foot anatomy and footwear, so hopefully you're going to be luckier 😊 Thank you for this lovely episode! I also want to knit a festive doodle since it's release, your project is a nice reminder for me 🙂

That's a great tip, thank you! I have some thread from a skein of Jawoll sock yarn so maybe I'll use that to help reinforce the heels and toes. Will report back :)
