@@pongmolina2157 that’s interesting, there are a lot of young cancer patients that I have met who do not have family members who had it.

This actually is grossly inaccurate. More and more people are being diagnosed younger. There are factors outside our control that contribute to this and there isn’t enough funding to figure out exactly why. A lot of biases and misconceptions about lung cancer, the public needs to realize majority of people diagnosed did absolutely nothing to cause the diagnosis.

I just got diagnosed with lung cancer this week , it’s moving very fast . I can feel ur pain thankfully on the upside I’m a veteran n the Va covers all my treatment. I wish I could reach out n take everyone’s sickness . I wish u the best in overcoming this my chemo n radiation will be everyday for six weeks . I am trying not to be down friends want to help I don’t have any family to speak of my daughter lives quite a distance from me so I havnt told her what’s really going on. I don’t want to be a burden to anyone.

But not letting people help may also be blocking their blessings. I would say do what feels right for you , one hour, one day at a time. I’m so glad your treatment is covered!!! Do you know if you have a biomarker? *hugs*!

@ they told me all the things it is it’s on the right lung n lymph node in the lung they use a lot of technical terms my brain can’t wrap around , I had open heart surgery three yrs ago to replace the mitriol valve . Cracked sternum that was the most miserable experience . I’m 60 just lost my mom this yr ( she was my best friend , all my life, I’ve had many ups n downs see ms like it’s one thing after another. ) I only found this on a routine cat scan to see if the heart was getting better. So I figure I had just better go n do what they tell me to do I’d love to get another twenty yrs out of my life.

@@pauliecosta7906 I hear you. There's so much jargon and technical stuff it took me a while to actually really understand what was going on. I'm so sorry for your loss :( My mom passed as well and she was 57... 57 and 60 are such young ages :( too soon. I'm sorry for your open heart surgery but I'm also glad your routine scans were the reason you found the lung cancer. And yes. So much modern medicine out there, I have lots of hope! Don't feel bad. You are living under extraordinary circumstances and as such require taking extraordinary measures and that is after all what family is for - to support us when we are on our knees. I have posted to your channel once before about my wife's advanced stage 4 met breast cancer. A story only partly told. The last 2 years. Never to be forgotten. My wife with an odd lung infection for almost 2 months. On oxygen at home. Finally convinced her to go to the ER. They did a scan. Saw the infection and a mass on her liver and suspected more cancer progression. Did a biopsy that went horribly wrong and she nearly bled to death. I was in the ER with the trauma team holding an oxygen mask over her face trying to keep her calm while they tried to find a vein to start a transfusion. Her vascular system had collapsed due to blood loss. By the grace of god she had a port installed for cancer treatment and they were able to use it for the transfusion. Six hours later, in the wee hours of the morning, she was stable. Had surgery to fix the bleed. The tracking dye they used shut down her kidneys. She fell into a drug/toxin induced coma for 3 weeks while on a vent. Doctors had little hope of any meaningful recovery. I worked my IT job from 3 am to 10am and then to the hospital until 6-9 pm. Everyday for 3 months. Leaving out so,so much, for the first time in my life I witnessed what I consider to be a series of miracles as her kidneys began to recover after 2 weeks (coupled with being on dialysis), she slowly exited the coma and sustained no brain injury and after weeks of PT was able to once again walk, talk and find some measure of normalcy. Then onto resuming the cancer battle which had spread to liver/lungs/bones/lymph/brain. A seemingly intractable situation. Yet another miracle to unfold. A conventional immune drug combined with specific adjuncts from our 10 years of cancer research resulted in a full resolution to her cancer and she has remained cancer free for over a year now. Soon after I (my entire IT group) was laid off/out sourced after 20+ years of service and I am now having to try to find employment in a tough market. I am older and have accumulated some savings to cover living/insurance costs (a must have for my wife) for a while but this is not an ideal situation and never imagined life to have taken the course that it did. So maybe our story gives you some comfort that you are not the only one on a rocky road............you have plenty of company. All my best, Mike

Before I was diagnosed with lung disease, saw my Primary Doctor same year. he requested to had blood tests so I did that so when he received the results told me to get ct scan for my kidney coz many years ago watching my kidney coz kidney stone when my doctor received the results from ct scans he referred me to see pulmonary doctor so gave lots of tests so doctors saw a ct scan then referred to get biopsy came positive so doctors given me referral to civilian for consultation so doctors scheduled me to had surgery I had 5 incension in body make sure lymph node. Thank you god didn’t had lymph node. After 2 weeks follow up surgery given me other x ray and was cleared. So my oncology called me to my treatment. My Oncology doctor said your getting immunotherapy for treatment to attack the cancer cell. I’m taking pills for my cancer cell. My first pet scan after surgery was ok. I’ll find out for second petscan in February hopefully is decreasing the cancer cells.
