Ps my brass alcohol stove is 5 in. On the burner and three in tall.
@kevinroberson19853 ай бұрын
Care a syringe 💉 with and without the needle on it and fuel you don't burn just pull it up with syringe and put it back in the bottle. Ps nice alcohol stove I haven't thought of using one of those bottles but I have made alcohol stoves out of some of the small brass artillery shells and just punched the primer out of one base of the shell for a filling hole and did some lathe work and turned a funnel shape for the top of the burner and got rid of alot of weight from inside the shell base on the upper and lower shell bases . The same order as a penny stove but my stove held enough fuel to burn right at two hours with 32 flame holes it's not light weight but very nice for a cabin and I guess it's not too heavy at one pound four oz. But gets the job done pretty fast once it heats up around two minutes and gets to generate pressure from covering the filling hole it generates some pressure and makes a whistleing sound like a stove burner for out door cooking that made in stand. I'm going to try and turn one out on my lathe with a top to close off some of the flame holes to lower the heat out put and open it up for more heat and put the flame out with.

Good idea to use the $1 store water bottle instead of drink cans, however i believe i would stick with the basic penny can design instead of having a big opening at the top.

Cheaper, easier to get the Ozark Trails 7" stove for $40. Not everyone has $$$ for tools needed on the " DIY stove. I've seen many vids with dudes and drill presses, hand tools etc....😮.

TIP: If you set the base piece and the top end down onto a piece of sandpaper and push them back and forth on the sandpaper, that will even out the edges and make a perfectly even edge all the way around.

When you pour the excess fuel back into the bottle, after cooking, does it come out the top section, or out through the holes in the side?

Oh, wow, they've been making this for a while! [replying to 8-year-old vid] My kids got me one for xmas (today) and it doesn't look like anything obvious has changed. Seems quite nice overall. Fortuitous filming day with that rain! Good vid. No issues with leakage with no flap over the front zipper? Has the small-scale front zipper held up over time? You mentioned the stiffness goes away over time. I like hearing that. Once they soften, does the fabric noise go away as well? Was the size what you expected? The Large I was given seems to be more like an XL or XXL to me. And, looking at reviews, that seems to be a common complaint. (That wouldn't necessarily be an issue if the cinch at the bottom didn't made it feel like I have pants or underwear falling down when it's pulled tight!) I'm debating whether to go through the hassle of replacing with a smaller size. I like the many pockets -- can never have enough! -- and I like how deep the inner pockets are. Given the cut of the jacket, I was surprised there wasn't a "game pocket" (fish, pheasant,...) on the lower back! I didn't expect one but I subconsciously reached back to check and it wasn't there. :)

Okay... what if you are lazy and just leave the drippings in there - it that really a problem? And like, brother... careful with that sparky thing - I was kringing over here thinking about flying alcohol that THEN decided to fire up. Maybe was just the camera angle. Thanks for the vid... now I can eat more meat before the world takes it all away! 😮

You can just rub a brick of wax, sno-seal, or otter wax dressing and then heat it. I like to use a mix of beeswax, flaxseed oil, and pine gum turpentine on cloth and wood. Sometimes even leather. Pinetar/birch oil is another option, but I use that more specifically in leather.

The thing with linseed oil is that has the reputation of beeing self flamable on textiles.. In carpenters context they oils some wood with a piece of cotton and the pieces mostly dont look good. They becoming hard and things.. Its sooo confusing. I see also people dont use the wax part and got also not this problem. This all looking fine. So i dont get the detail what is different 😅. That it could becoming hard and ugly. The flamable thing is clear to handle with a lot of fresh air
