Most notable media with platonic handholding? Doctor Who. Ever since the 3rd Doctor it has been a common sight for The Doctor (and other characters) to hold hands platonically- especially when running from monsters lol. The first scene we see The Doctor in during the first episode of the 2005 re-boot is of him holding someone's hand platonically. I love platonic hand holding too so I thought I would help you out with at least one major place to find it (I can't think of any more off the top of my head :\)

For the Trigun fandom, it's how often religious imagery or wording is used to paint Vash as an angel or a saint through Wolfwood's eyes. But Vash would hate that, he'd _hate_ it, and Wolfwood knows very well that Vash isn't either of those things. This is true for every single canon iteration of these characters. That's how they can understand each other so well. Because they see each other's humanity. For the JJK fandom, it's how often people use the term 'god complex' for Gojo. If they took a second to look up what it really means, they'd realize he doesn't actually have one. Maybe it's because of the whole "throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one" scene in Hidden Inventory. Even the official wiki mistook that scene as being about becoming a god when it was very clearly about gaining enlightenment. In one fic, I literally saw the author describe canon things about Getō and Gojo and then say those things aren't part of their characters. And they were actually serious. I guess what I'm saying is: media literacy needs to be way more common than it is now.

6:00 I will defend Captain Swan, or whatever this ship is called, with my life. I get WHY Swanqueen exists, and the appeal, but it doesn't work as well as Killian and Emma do. Killian is shown to be deeply in love with this woman (It's also shown throughout the series that when he loves a woman, like actually loves her, he would do anything), and wants to be with her. He makes his intentions definitely known but he doesn't push, he just stays throughout season 3 to help Emma. (Spoilers ahead) What really kickoffs their relationship is the time travel moment they have, which I do despise and love (Despise because changing canon lore which they ingrained in all our brains, for little reason). Emma watches her parents fall in love right next to Killian and honestly that is so cute I can't? It's even better considering they were never 'true love'. They also have an amazing dynamic and chemistry. They would both do ANYTHING for each other (Emma literally goes to heck for him, and Killian is shown to love her no matter what happens, even in her dark one arc). Killian calls Emma his happy ending, which I think Emma reciprocates considering she finally has a semi-stable relationship and eventually gets married to him (and even has a kid season 7). This is all also amazing considering they were never 'true love' and their relationship originally started on a lie, which Emma did quickly catch and was like "hey ur not a survived citizen of cora attack???!!!!" Tried my best not to rant, cut a bunch out because I'd just get rambly but I could go on and on about them. I adore both of them as characters and adore them both together. I do think a platonic Swanqueen/Regina and Emma as friends would have been really fun to see if they dug deeper into it. OUAT has a lot of missed opportunities and a lot of confusing lore (and a more confusing family tree) edit 1: 8:27 as a warrior cat fan as well i agree give us gay cats. maybe even shadowsight and rootspring. its not unrealistic, magical religious cats are though. im not even a reader of wc anymore (mostly because im still spiteful about bristle frost and root spring getting together EVEN THOUGH BRISTLE FROST SHOWED NO ROMANTIC ATTRACTION TO HIM AND EVEN SHOWED THE OPPOSITE, and it felt like they didnt even TRY to develop them???????? and then she died, thankfully. let bristle die as a girlboss, the way she should have lived instead of just turning into rootsprings girlfriend (like she lost her girlbossness after that).) edit 2: not gonna timestamp because im too lazy to go back lol. i really agree with the lokius thing because omg i don't get loki and sylvie together, it feels so one sided and narcissistic. like your trying to redeem a villain and you make him fall in love with another version of him!?!? and also you confirm his as bi in the show so its totally plausible and reasonable to say loki could've liked mobius. plus i've always enjoyed their chemistry together and they already had a bond and possible angst you could go off of and develop the characters further. this honestly REALLY showns in season 2 where they work together SO WELL, but im glad they didnt end up making lokius canon since it would've felt somewhat random in the second season. Im glad they stepped back from sylvie (even tho i do like her) and focused on more platonic aspects. while i do think lokius should've been canon, i think they should have set it up in season one if they had decided to do that. sadly they didnt. thanks for listening to me rant about my fave shows and media <3

Mine is A: very comfortable, genuine, confident, positive person (me) x B: dark, broody, anxious/depressed, thinks they’re not good enough, but feels a lot better and is able to open up/be themself around A (who doesn’t force B to do anything they aren’t comfortable with but leads by example and makes sure they feel safe)

One of my earliest journeys into fanfic was when I adopted someone else's fic when they left the fandom. It ultimately didn't end up working out, and I eventually left the fandom as well, but it was about the jilted MC of the show taking on the mantel of a retiring deity and becoming a powerful goddess (all so that she could get back at her love interest). Does it make sense that ancient Greek gods find replacements? Not really, and that's part of why I never completed it, but I just HAD to track down the correct goddess, the one who made the most sense and had the most ties to the MC and her canon abilities and beliefs, so that it would make sense... No such perfect match exists. The closest options are all, like, minor daemons - and thus are actually just physical manifestations of concepts or abilities, so it makes even less sense that they would retire. And, by the time I realized this, I had already given up on the fic and moved on from the fandom. But, I did find a love for mythology, so there's that. I still do tons of research for my fics (and original works). Most recently, this research involves finding suitable translations from Ancient Egyptian (it can't be substituted for anything else without loosing the intended effect), understanding theoretical physics (to make a believable time-travel system), looking up various clothing/food/naming practices/etc. of various ancient civilizations, and retrofitting the canon timeline of a certain 90s anime into something that makes sense across it's multiple spin-offs. It's actually the translations that are giving the worst headache. The centuries of Arabic Islamic rule lead to much of modern Egypt's culture being, effectively, foreign transplants. Which would be fine, if I wasn't trying to write characters that pre-date those changes by a few millennia. And, because they are interacting with one of the few canon characters that WOULD notice the difference, they have to be actually speaking a virtually dead language with very few existing online translations.

for Umbrella Academy I feel like there is a lot of hate for season one Luther and season three Allison. for Luther, i guess i can see that his relationship thing with allison was kinda weird but other than i love him even in season 1. Compared to his other siblings who have murdered tons of people or caused the apocalypse (Viktor and Five 👀👀👀) he is pretty tame, i think all the siblings are not the most ethical/moral. plus a lot of hate is about how he "wont shut up about the moon", but he talks about it 2 or 3 times, and 1 of the times he didnt even originally bring it up (diego kept trying to pick fights over it, Luther hadnt even said anything). in the scene where he is talking to five i dont think he is comparing his trauma, but trying to relate to him even if he cant fully understand what five went through. Also he seemingly (at the time) thought he was sent to the moon for no reason other to get rid of him, id be upset too :/ i dont know that much if the reason for Allison's season 3 hate, but i though her whole mental breakdown thing was pretty cool.
