Hey guys - love the videos and been following a long time; I'm curious to know how you are holding up doing the lap in a camper trailer? I'm thinking the same trip but going solo with a forward fold.
@wildworldadventures7 күн бұрын
Hey mate, All forms of travel accommodation have their pro's and con's and camper trailers do require a bit of setting up time and doing it alone can be challenging no matter what the sales guys tell ya. I working on a video that will go into detail about travelling with a camper in the coming months so stay tuned 😉

Hi, good job on doing that track in 2 days. I’m doing it 8th September. When did you go? Did you sleep in your hammock? Where there always trees in all the camps to hang from? Was the ground ok to put stakes into the ground? What were your night time temperatures? I see the days were super hot, just not sure about the nights.
@wildworldadventures2 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for the comment. I think we did it in October and it was super dry as you would have seen. You can always find a spot to hitch up a hammock but we used the tent that time. Temperature at night was hot from memory and we usually only have a summer sleeping bag with a liner if it does end up getting a little cooler. Just ask the local ranger station on the condition of the track. We are used to hot weather and tough tracks but an amature could have easily run into trouble here. The track is not always easy to find and getting lost is a real possibility. The waterfalls were super nice on the end. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Have fun

I really like your boat. But I would like something slightly bigger. Next size would be the 3.7 explorer. But I think it might be a little big for my ute. 3.6 would be a nice size. Love the islands. Fantastic 🙌🏻

We just bought a new hybrid fully off-road caravan. I'm still confused about the load configuration. I have been told all heavy items should be on the floor over axel. 60% towards the front and 40% towards the back. I still get a little sway, especially when its windy. I also have 2 spare wheels at the rear of the caravan. 2x 120 ltr tanks. Its hard. But we will get there. Fantastic video. Your channel is fantastic. I'm looking forward to downsizing my boat and getting my ute canopy setup on my colorado. Well done 👌
@wildworldadventures2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment, the weight ratio sounds right. As long as you have enough weight on your towbar it's fine. Sway from wind is normal too. I would recommend getting your wheels balanced as this is not done from the factory. Happy travels
@scale2tail2 ай бұрын
@wildworldadventures thanks mate. Yes. We are getting the balance done. Also, getting the bearings changed. Never know. We may see you on the road sometime. Thanks again 👌

Hi I’ve only just started watching your episodes you remind me of my wife and I thirty yrs ago. So real and raw remind us of great memories. Don’t change your format. There’s too many out there gamifying their travels. Us old timers appreciate honesty and integrity and experiences. We have a camper trailer too but a different brand and have just started taking our grandkids with us. We look forward too every school break now. Keeps us young. Tents and camper trailers and more to bush camping than a caravan and the kids love it. Looking forward to watching all your travels.

Along time ago i was in a similar predicament, very remote, I luckly had a tube of urethane(not silicone) and i took tyre off and open up hole put a big mushroom patch on inside to outside of tyre, let it cure for couple day put it back on trailer. I wore that tyre down to depth gauges (15yrs) not a leak ever. I still carry a tube of urethane. Its more versitile than silicone.
@wildworldadventures2 ай бұрын
Mate, that's an awesome idea. I was going to change the tire as well with the one we had but remembering I tried once without the reaming tool and ended up damaging the rim. Thanks for the tip 😃

Country like that you would need no more than 28psi, that will reduce the chance of that sort of tyre damage from rocks. They can flex a lot more. Just don’t go more than 80k an hour.

When was this taken ,I was in Daintree 27 28 29:05:24 the Bloomfield track was not open and the lions den does not look like that anymore.the videos I have of the water line on the pub is frightening not a thing left inside the lion, the main and bottom jaw is gone. The den needs a lot of help.

48 years ago, Pennefather was a secret place the locals kept to ourselves. Mostly spotless, no flies, turtles nesting and masses of wild orchids. Times change it seems. Kind of glad I can't travel anymore. I feel I would be disappointed if I went back now. Glad you enjoyed it and nice to see the fishing and big lizard aspect hasn't changed. The lizards do seem a little smaller than I remember. Guessing the old bull that used to hang around isn't around anymore.
@wildworldadventures4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment MsZumbah. Yes, unfortunately time are changing and you are not the only one seeing the difference. The affordability and popularity of 4wd equipment combined with more road access, internet and population gets a lot of once secret spots not only over crowded but in many cases closed down. It's great to see young kids doing what we used to do but I guess there is a flip side to everything. Over the years of travelling I found out that the hardest places to get to are still unspoiled. Unfortunately this means to do it on foot or through neck breaking tracks. Sad to hear you can't travel anymore and hope our videos bring back some fond memories of your own adventures.

@@wildworldadventures Thanks for replying! I clicked on a Weipa video that randomly popped up on my feed a couple of weeks ago, thinking,,gee..wonder how my old home town was looking now. Want to guess how many are on my feed now? Lol! And yes, they are bringing back fond memories! Tourists in their shiny 4wd's on an adventure to the tip of the Cape. Towing them out of creeks, warning them not to camp on the edge of the river, watching them hang their towels on the "No swimming, Crocs" signs while they went to cool off, telling them it's not cool to dig up turtle eggs to photograph them, and that nest of eggs up the river is NOT turtle eggs or bird eggs and they should avoid that area...all while getting the "Don't tell me how to have my holiday" look. Good times! Glad I don't live there anymore though. I do regularly miss the fishing! Nothing beats fresh fish, muddie and prawns! Oh and that shark? No idea of it's scientific name..we just called them lure destroyers or bait munchers. In the same basket as catfish and worm infested Trevally (trash) 😁
