Probably the salt shaker is not a problem, since most just use a sprinkle here or there. I've been watching some videos lately that iodine not only plays a role in thyroid function, but is needed by the body for many other cellular processes. Also, if you're taking thyroid replacement hormone, doesn't that shut down your thyroid from producing it's own thyroxin (which is attacked by antibodies)? Cutting out coffee is probably a non-starter for most with hypothyroidism, since fatigue goes along with the condition. Besides, coffee has several health benefits as well. Thus, maybe limiting consumption is enough. Raw veggies can carry disease unfortunately, which is probably more of a concern. That all said, taking thyroid replacement hormone greatly reduces the thyroid hormone produced by your own gland, so eating things that would normally slow it's function, should not be much concern. Most of the rest of things to avoid make sense.

I’m 2 months post total thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer and hashimotos. I have to be extremely strict with my diet just to stay at the weight I am rn. I’m trying to figure out how to achieve my weight loss goal, but it seems impossible now. I just want to be at a normal weight again. My endo just raised my liothyronine to 5mcg twice a day because my tsh was at 7.5. Levothyroxine was raised to 125mcg a month ago. This week’s goal is to get a gym membership. It’s been a very difficult couple of years, but I feel so much better and happier without my thyroid. I really hope I can look physically how I feel on the inside soon.

Back in the bodybuilding "bro science" days I took T3 and Clen to get shredded. NOT a good idea with a healthy Thyroid! Lol. Somehow I'm alive and well. Be smart young kings.

The endo I was sent to was dismissive and wanted to remove my parathyroid glands via surgery due to marginal high blood calcium which he didn't even adjust for albumin. He didn't even have an ultrasound done first. I am in great health and research issues that I have so I was so I knew that he was rushing a surgical intervention. The money grab.

please look up breathing exercises by BABA RAMDEV for hyperthyroid. That will reverse it. Especially UJJAYI PRANAYAMA 21 times everyday. Along with 3-4 others that he talks about. Do it everyday and you will be cured.

After many years with Hashimotos and taking Levo, which was not working for me, my body was actually shutting down, I went to a private holistic Dr who put me on NDT, supplements, and advised me to cut out gluten, dairy, soy, processed sugar, caffeine and corn products. I can certainly feel the difference! I am able to function again, do light exercise, and the fibromyalgia flare ups have stopped. I'm returning to work next week after 3 months on sick leave. 😊

Interesting… I’ve been drinking Pepsi Max every day for years, maybe 4-5 cans. TSH 194 and diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I’m cutting it out to see what happens. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Magnesium citrate and magnesium aspartate are two great forms for the thyroid and bodily functions too. Glycinate is mainly for the muscles and tissues. It's great if you can get a blend of the first two, and alternate it with the glycinate on different days. Magnesium is a miracle supplement. Look into getting the booklet made in the early 2000s or late 90's called, magnesium the miracle nutrient. Awesome stuff that really works and helps in so many bodily functions. And it's relatively cheap in price. It's a natural calcium channel blocker and helps with blood pressure and heart conditions. Thanks doctor. ⭐⭐🙂🙏

I was hoping you'd tell U.S. people how to actually buy methylcobalamin shots to self-administer at home, as most people can't afford to go to a weightloss clinic weekly & regular health insurance in the U.S. won't pay for them.

Wish I'd known this when I was 35 or 40!! Thank you, incredibly informative and really clicks at 65! I noticed what I thought was a gland in my throat that didn't go down after bronchitis (at 39 or 40). Turns out to be a "cold nodule" all the tests at that time. Surgeon recommended hemi-thyroidectomy. Removed 1/2 and beginning replacement. Years later, my Endocrinologist said, oh, you have Hashimotos too. I didn't think much of it, because I was already taking medicine. So, if it can be inflamed, I may have had it. I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis ×25 years and Iritis for several years before that. Pretty sure I'm a 5+. But 175 mcg does well. Daughter is 38.

Glycinate converts onto Glutamate in some people. And glutamate also increases histamine issues. And when hashimotos is attacking the brain in the case of encephalopathy, you have excess glutamate in the brain, so magnesium glycinate can make this worse. So many practitioners suggest it, without the aware it may make someone worse, increase anxiety, insomnia, migraines etc….. honestly it’s ridiculous.
