Congratulations!! Hello, citizen science member since 2009. My profile has been deleted from the Rosetta at home project. I do not know what has triggered the mysterious profile removal. Either adding a KZbin playlist to my bio? Or my farm sucking hard on your servers, or an error? At any rate, this also occurred for another user tonight as well. I am danwat1234, created 2009. authenticator f62330935c7513f88a21acd30e8a8e73 cpid 33c55b16c9b0fcc5446bc4e21803fec4 my ID i think 29796 .. User#2 was id 1577939 , name Kijik Wolf

Dr Baker did not mention the ability to build protein structures that allow your own stem cells to create replacement organs, we have all the tools for this. Stay curious Dr Baker 🎉

Congratulations. But can we design proteins with the desired functions? For example, if we could fix CO2 in atmosphere, we might be able to control global warming.

@RishirKalepu3 ай бұрын
There are already known natural proteins that do this (carbonic anhydrases). They are used by plants, plankton, etc. to build biomass using CO2. What's more, they have been engineered for CO2 capture, see Protein Engineering, Design and Selection 34 (2021): gzab021. Nevertheless, there's a long way to go before they're useful at scale

Why is work so scarce on Rosetta@home?
@lvl_chph_htmn3 ай бұрын
It had become obsolete long ago. Even in the early 2010s, distributed computing on volunteers' PCs no longer matched a modern GPU or even a CPU-only cluster in terms of performance for such tasks.
