Congratulations. But can we design proteins with the desired functions? For example, if we could fix CO2 in atmosphere, we might be able to control global warming.

There are already known natural proteins that do this (carbonic anhydrases). They are used by plants, plankton, etc. to build biomass using CO2. What's more, they have been engineered for CO2 capture, see Protein Engineering, Design and Selection 34 (2021): gzab021. Nevertheless, there's a long way to go before they're useful at scale

It had become obsolete long ago. Even in the early 2010s, distributed computing on volunteers' PCs no longer matched a modern GPU or even a CPU-only cluster in terms of performance for such tasks.
