Great Idea. I remember a band here once had a drummer who use manaquins in various poses to hold all his cymbals.

Aww thank you 🙏 my plan for this channel is that once we have finished building the place, we can feature all the different things we make here.. music, gizmos, food, furniture, ceramics, concerts, seminars, interviews etc..

The Mahogany-looking wood you have is likely what people refer to as “Phillipine Mahogany” aka Luaun. It could be one of several similar-looking woods, commonly found in Southeast Asia. They’re not real Mahogany, but share similarities (mostly aesthetic). It’s pretty strong and looks very nice!

I am going to give my 2 centavo's worth of opinion and suggestions based on 43 years of owning and operating a woodworking business.#1 super important keep your work area clean around your feet a 55 tooth blade spinning at 4500rpm will put 1200 teeth through your fingers or whole hand if you trip bad enough before you can even think about reacting its really super important to think about this Before cutting anything. I don't wear any rings or bracelets or loose long sleeve clothes that could get snagged. 9 times out of 10 its the thing you were somewhat aware of but just thought it wouldn't happen to you that gets you.2. Think about the task at hand and is there a better way to do it 1st. Example ;,cutting the door handles across the end grain the way you where it is sketchy af as you probably noticed they have a tendency to "bobble" if they bind and kick back things will go wrong fast, solution clamp a board across the face of the handle so it rests on top of the fence and slide it thru that way your fingers have a better purchase so the board can't tilt and loose control. As far as dust you are right about it throwing back if its binding at the rear of the fence, ideally the rear of the fence should be just a fraction wider than the front this will also help prevent kick back your fence should have adjustment screws to set it correctly which I know is something you can do since you are very good at figuring all kinds of things out.I would suggest reassessing how materials come thru your building ie; rough, dirty, non dimensioned material and the equipment to process it should have a dedicated isolated space, an area for finishing and if possible a place for curing (clean, heated, etc). I am building my fourth studio /work shop "I am an avid photographer" and want try and combine the two passions in one place so I will be following these guidelines also. Not trying to be a dick just passing along some stuff, A smart man learns from his mistakes a wise man learns from others mistakes.

Having the fence on that side of the angled cut, might be asking for trouble, as the offcut could bind very easily.

Hanging doors has always been a bit of a pain in the butt for me. Even though you have every angle level, the door always seems to hang off kilter. Go figure. Regardless, the entrance way looks great. And squash for days! Have a great week everyone.

Off Topic but i think i have a Awesome solution to your Studio in the form of a Vintage Roland M400 24 track Digital Desk and S1608 Digital Stage boxes for the Live Rooms all through one lan cable...I got a M400 for 450 sterling and two 1608 boxes for a further 200 quid i now have 32 xlr ins and 32 xlr out for about 650 total...Great sounding Desk with Full recall and flying faders and can up inputs and outputs to 124 tracks in and out i think but im happy with 32 eachway...theres 8 ins and 8 outs on the m400 itself ideal for you to patch through to the sidecar for instance then stick the boxes in liveroom location you require and patch lan into your mixer and voila.....

@@idea_farm Nice. We've not got them here in Norway, but I do remember them from Germany. Just put a load of wooden tiles up and used Tec7, but that Casco stuff is always a bit cheaper. Great work on the doors by the way. Always good to have a bit of problem solving and reward now and then.

I struggle often with wanting something now and coming up with reasons why i have to have it now. Usually involves borrowing money to get it. The older i get the better I am at delayed gratification but I love the ethos of earning it first. Key benefit there is cash in hand always makes you more judicious about what you are buying and what you REALLY need. It also gives you the added benefit of time to really feel out what you want/need, and maybe you end up going the more modern Avid S4/S6 route with outboard. Or maybe you get an opportunity to buy an older style analogue desk, but the time will help get a feeling for your needs in the new space, and that is crucial. Top job on the doorframe too!!

One thing i did wrong in the past: the frame seems a little bit to weak for the weight it has to carry…did the same thing and it ended up not staying in place and not closing nice. Hopefully you will not have the same issues. Forgive me for the negative feedback…maybe its stronger than it looks 😅 greets from Berlin

In my opinion a big desk isn´t essential. I´ve seen hiring studios just with daw controllers and external pre´s and it worked quite well. For me at your space the environment is more positive than the ultimate SSL / Neve or whatever console. Yes, Peter Gabriels Real World studio complex is a dream everyone wishes but it suits not at every place. People, the environment and the equipment are for me the facts which are all together important! So, I think a console should not be the priority issue at your studio! Best of luck! The reports of the building process are great!
