Budapest is such a magically beautiful city. I'm just wondering why I don't see any dogs, especially at the Liberty square ?? When I lived there, it was so lively with people and dogs. I was also impressed that people in Hungary cared for their dogs so good.

A little help to see what's happening in the Castle District! The government ordered two years ago that everything should be restored to pre-WWII standards! This means that several buildings that were bombed down will be completely rebuilt according to the original plans. Or buildings that have been damaged and half demolished will also be restored. So several ministries will move back into the castle district in these buildings. The Royal Palace will also be restored to its original state inside and out! It will take ten years, but it will be done. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnfFon6knbdrmsk

And adding insult to injury, there are people, who complain about this renovation, citing, that the pre WW2 government was fascist. There is no deductive connection between the Hauszmann buildings and the Horthy government, but the naysayers allways come up with this kind of twisted logic. The communists in power after 1945 did terrible things, and the negligence of this historic building district is among them. I would rather see the King Matthias castle district rebuilt, but that comes from my love for gothic architecture. This renovation is a welcome thing. I'm just sorry that the current government does it, and not another one with less corruption.

In this video it can be clearly seen, the building of Vecsey utca 3 - apt. 1 on 4th floor, this was (is) of property of my family and it was taken illegally by the city in 1950.

Great video and appreciated the captions. Though I’m confused by the location of the grand St. Stephen Basilica. The captions shows it at 19:23 being inner city and again at 37:33 being closer to the river and a different building.

Oh haha my bad, the software I was using must have accidentally duplicated the text, the correct one is 19:23, good spot😅❤️ thanks for watching☺️
