Lol, my sister lives there and I've visited a few times and our parents seem to think it's a dingy little town, so I want to show them it's actually a nice big city 😅

Proud to be a Bristolian though I don’t live there now. Plenty of memories of getting off the bus in Queens Square, walking up Park Street and University Road to school.

A few more cycling lanes and public transport links, a few less cars, and Bristol would be on par with many of the best in Europe for liveability.

Good question! Didn't know before today but just found out its called MV Balmoral, some good facts about it on Wikipedia here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Balmoral_(1949) hope that helps ☺

There is a reproduction of the Matthew which was Cabots boat when he discovered America. You can take trips on it. There is also a ferryboat company which goes to the other end of the harbour and also to Temple Meads station.
@westhavengwr461328 күн бұрын
Balmoral was also in The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society film where Bristol Harbour pretended to be Weymouth.

Nice parts shown in favourable weather. Go slightly further and you will see handcar washes, Turkish barbers, kebab/vape/mobile phone shops in abundance. It’s ok here but not like it used to be as it’s overcrowded (population goes up by thousands every year) and the council only cares about certain areas.
