Hi mate. Love the vid. Great crabbing. Just wanting to know how you make those prawn chips? They look so simple and a great match with the prawns.

Hey mate love your posts. I have a few questions for you and would like to know if you could address these (in a video if possible)1- How often do the authorities check your crab sizes and penalties if undersize? 2- Could you show the difference between male and Female crabs 3- If they were to grab you could they break the skin or worse, Thanks mate Kind regards, Darren
@returnoutdoors22107 күн бұрын
The regulations are heavily enforced in Qld from the authorities and carry severe penalties for all infringements. To be bitten by a full size crab would inflict a very serious injury. Thanks for your questions. Cheers, Brad👍

It's quicker to use rubber bands to close the claws then to tie them
@returnoutdoors22107 күн бұрын
I've never seen rubber bands used on large mud crab claws. Thanks for your comment! Cheers👍

Hi mate, just curious you just fish snags etc? Do you sound over them first and see if there is any Barra and do you like live baiting on medium tides or neap etc. cheers
@returnoutdoors22107 күн бұрын
I do like to use my sounder, however more substantial structures will all hold fish on different parts of the tide. It depends on the time of the year (cooler months - neap tides). Cheers, Brad👍

The old boat looked more stable than this one, and since it was shallower, picking crab pots by hand was a breeze. The new one is high above the water, fetching crab pots with a hook is a chore.
@returnoutdoors22107 күн бұрын
The old boat may have been slightly more stable but not as safe as the new boat with the higher sides due to a healthy crocodile population where I fish. Thanks for your comment. Cheers👍

The nice bit was you cleaning the crabs before cooking them. A lot of people don't, they cook them whole, and they don't realise just how much they are changing the flavour of the crab. Cleaned before cooked is so much sweeter tasting.
