I used to use 2 achors but it was a pain in the arse so I lashed out and got a Min Kota Electric and havent looked back. So easy to use, just press the achor button and you do not move, perfect. It did cost $4100 though but my back isnt that good due to all of the parachuting I did in the Army so its a godsend for me
@returnoutdoors22108 ай бұрын
Min kota electrics certainly have a place and would make life easy. The parachuting sounds a bit nerve racking for me, I'll stick with the sharks in the river! I greatly appreciate your comment and support. Take care, Brad👍

Ahh yes. That system is the home of the bullshark in this local area.. when targeting the bigger class Barra it’s now basically impossible to get one in the boat. Over the Last 3-4 Years have lost about 50 fish over the meter mark to sharks all throughout the river.. not to mention all the other sized barras. Pretty much nearly impossible now. When side scanning around you can just see an count the bullsharks lol. And some are bigger than your boat! One day there will be an incident with a human an a shark in that river. It’s just a matter of time.

Good size barra catching. Have you ever caught any giant fresh water prawns( cherabin)? Barramundi, king threadfins love to eat live bait of cherabins. Have you traveled to Papua New Guinea for fishing barramundi? The local Papua fishermen use live bait cherabins. They caught many large barramundi. The Papua New Guinea have many big size snakehead fish, climbing perch.
@returnoutdoors2210Ай бұрын
I have caught cherabin but I ate them!😋Next time I'll save some for bait. It would be very exciting to experience the fishing Papua New Guinea has to offer. Thanks for sharing your comment. Cheers, Brad👍
@RRH-s2gАй бұрын
@@returnoutdoors2210 The fisherman( Papua) uses 10cm -14 cm cherabin to bait barramundi. He had many big size barramundi. He uses bow & arrow on big striped snakehead fishes. He catches many climbing perches ( 10 cm-15 cm) after the rain pouring down, climbing perches jump from a creek to other creeks to find foods. He also arrows to catch many big size tilapia( 250 mm- 350 mm long) fishes.

G'day mate. That 2nd Barra was a bloody nice one. Mate I'm sitting here all the way down south and I got a hell of a start when that shark come up. You wouldn't want to twiddle your toes in there. Was that Nth of T'ville that river you were in? It looks familiar when my son and I used to go out a river and the mouth to an island north again from the outlet. Bloody nice fish.

Hi mate, just curious you just fish snags etc? Do you sound over them first and see if there is any Barra and do you like live baiting on medium tides or neap etc. cheers
@returnoutdoors22107 күн бұрын
I do like to use my sounder, however more substantial structures will all hold fish on different parts of the tide. It depends on the time of the year (cooler months - neap tides). Cheers, Brad👍
