I left out “civil” because O’Reilly gets some digs in there, but Stewart is a master at taking things in stride, cracking jokes when he’s under pressure, and driving back to a serious point afterward.

I think this is a strong example of strong hosting vs weak hosting. O'Reilly is trying incredibly hard to bait Stewart to break his character and even slight him with playground rudeness. Stewart is very clever and obviously does his research, keeps on top of his subject matter and is able to stay balance. It is an immense talent that is hard to replicate. O'Reilly is an untalented shill.
