Mine wont start after doung the timing chains , it turned over then went into fail safe , now wont do anything with the key!!

Does that stay on 24/7 or is it only on with ignition? My e53 is always on from the factory so I added a relay to solve for that

It's wired to the cig lighter which is always on and therefore so is the wireless charger. It would be better to use a piggyback fuse tap on something that only turns on with ignition.

It is a common issue but the fix is not alwyas the same. Even a low battery can trigger this same warning. The e39 groups on facebook are a great help though.

If I'm not installing a camera and am gonna be using GPS antenna that comes with extrons do I need to run wires to the boot?

That depends on if your OEM headunit has all the wires behind the dash or if it's just a screen with the BM54 unit sitting in the boot.

INPA is free to download. The cable is just a cheap one off of ebay and works fine.

Good afternoon Kahn, I have an 03 x5 3.0 that went into Trans fail safe mode. Car starts, didn’t go into limp mode. The car still shift in all gears but on down shifting from 2 to first it’s a hard shift. Took it to a garage that specializes in bmw. They said they can’t get a reading from the TCM. They said there is corrosion in one of the pin connectors. They want $1700 to just change out the TCM. I can a new one I programmed from the stealer for $675. Can they be programmed with the scanning program you mention in this post?? Can the pin connectors & socket be cleaned? Any help will be much appreciated! Thank you,

Ofcourse, you can use contact cleaner to try clear the pins up. To program modules to your car you need NCS Expert but it does often come bundled with INPA. However, you really need to know what your are doing or else you could do more damage. The coding side is best left to someone who knows what they are doing.

I'm hoping you can help me. I have a 2006 x5 bmw with DSP audio. I bought a PSA7053B. I did not receive an installation manual, still hoping XTRONS will send one. I also bought the 6 meter adaptor cable. My understanding is this makes the install easy. I plug in XTRONS head to adaptor cable. I plug adaptor cable into DSP Unit. Same as E38 with DSP. The XTRONS head powers up when I connect ACC wire to +12v. Bluetooth works. But, I get no audio. When I look at the wiring, there are only 3 wires that connect to the BMW DSP Unit. This supplies power, I think. The wires in the bmw that go to the speakers are in the cable that I unplugged from the DSP unit. There is no cable to connect to the speakers in the bmw. Did you resolve this? I'd have thought you need the resler interface/module to get the DSP amp to turn on and provide sound.

Not sure about safe but it's very sluggish. So difficult to drive since it's stuck in 4th gear.

I have a E38 with the exact same spec as you have DSP, SATNAV etc in the boot. From what I understand. With the Resler USB I-BUS module. You can keep the DSP amp if you purchase a A DSP licence from I-BUS. Also the only cables you have to route to the rear. Is the Antenna cables. Because both the radio and GPS antenna amplifier is placed in the rear. Radio in the C pillar, and the GPS also some place in the back Under the rear window window I think

540i msport mine jump to red on temp gauge no crank changed temp sensor no crank still jumps to red on temp gauge now reset computer now on blue no crank but same TRANS. FAILSAFE PROG AND ENGINE FAIL SAFE PROG all fuse are good anybody got this issue?

Hello, Im wondering to retrofit a DSP in my E39 (2002) and i think i will fit the quadlock in case i want to upgrade to Xtrons in the future. If i buy the quadlock adapter exl007, will the "Adapter for Resler Module and Resler Interface to Quadlock, New Generation, flat pin" fit? Cheers, Mário

Mine is 2005 X5, E53 and I had the same problem and solved it. I tried the 2 at the same time. 1. Disconnect battery + - both for 30 minutes and reconnect it. 2. Put the transmission in neutral and start the car.

Hi sir I dk have a question about 528i automatic gearbox 5zhp18 . I changed the hydraulic oil and filter,,,then tha gearbox stop changing gears . But when you put the manual mode the gear box looks like stuck in forth gear. Even if you put it in first gear and you release your hand it goes back to forth gear. Any help

Hey Khan got a problem that's similar to this however i know the issue and how it was caused.... At summer whenever i washed the car, if the pressure wash water got into radiator through grills transmission would put it self into trans failsafe prog. I just had to wait for it to dry out and it was gone

Hey can anyone help me with my 530i. It's modified but not that much. But I have engine failsafe prog and transmission failsafe prog both popping up on my dash. I have trouble code p-0600 and 5 other codes I dont really remember, but they all have to do with the wiring harness connectors for different engine components signals being too low accept my maf is the only one that says its signal is too high. I have been trying to figure this out for over a week and im getting frustrated lol any help would be awesome

I had a 2006 x5 with the trans fail safe mode on. The problem is in the hood area there is a big fuse box that cost like $130 I just changed the fuse box and the problem was fix no more trans fail safe mode at all!!!

I replaced my crank shaft recently but idk if that has anything to do with my trans failsafe but then my buddy ran it through it computer and we get the error code stall speed. Idk what it is but it really worries me since it’s my first car and I’m having issues already.

Great video! I also have a 2003 540i but Japanese import. I've got some krazing behind my headlight lenses as was told that year you can't take them apart. I noticed you have the 'X' lens and was wondering how you were able to take them apart? Thanks

There are two types of headlights. Some that can be baked open and later models which are sealed and can only be cut open to replace the lenses. On the back of the headlights, near the lower mounting tabs, there is a little circle with the number from 1 to 12 around it and two numbers with an arrow in the middle. The arrow points to the production month of the headlights and the two numbers represent the year. Mine were 02 in the middle and the arrow pointing to 1, so the production date was 1/02 (Jan 2002). I've read anything after 7/02 is sealed and cannot be baked open.

This is great, I am having the same problem so am going to get INPA downloaded and hopefully fix it - only difference is mine will start and go into limp mode every time it appears. Also as a sidenote - how did you get that custom welcome message on your dash? Looks excellent!

Get it scanned. Hopefully it's something minor (fingers crossed) The welcome message is thanks to the ibus app and resler interface/module which I have paired with my android head unit. Has a few other nice little tricks too.

@@emiliod2653 what phone you have does not matter. Its the headunit that needs to be android with the ibus app installed. The resler interface/module is then wired in.
