I really like this build just curious if u were given a 4wd one how would u go about the drive train to have it working i was recently given a 4wd frame and i wanna drop a 6.0 in with a 4L80 but iv never done anything like this before just wondering if it would be feasible to have working 4wd

Hey, those flat top pistons indicate that it is a 4.8 not a 5.3. I hope they didn't tell you that it was a 5.3.The block has a stamping on the front drivers side that reads like this (4.8/5.3) and that is because the same block is used for both. The only way of knowing what it is is the Vin# on the vehicle that it came out of, or removing the heads as you have done to see which pistons it has, dished = 5.3, flat top = 4.8.

I would recommend revolution gear. It was able to swap the factory pinion shim over and get a good pattern. Backlash and carrier preload took a while tho.

A "budget LS swap" is a contradiction in terms. If you do this, get ready to lay out some serious cash. In a square body it's like putting a jet engine in the Flintstonemobile.

How does the motor and transmission hold up to the 37s ? Is she super slow ?

For a replacement washer fluid tank I used a universal one for sxs's it fits between the rad support and air box the the original pump pops right in just lose the rear squirter

The short answer is no, a stock Tacoma won't make it without legendary lines and luck. This area is the gatekeeper (namesake implied). There would have been plenty of progress after that, along with bypasses. Would be cool to see a website where they note their vehicle details including tire-size, heighth/lift, and obstacles surpassed. This was a cool video, glad there was no serious damage to the vehicle.
